GSW/Utah/Houston are all within half of a game of each other.

Cavs trade pick 19 and Andy. Cavs get P Gasol and R Artest. Lakers save approx 68m dollars. Our team is significantly better next year, but not bound by long term deals.

We approach having a solid 9-10man rotation

Guards/Forwards Irving/Waiters/Ellington/Artest/Gee and Livingston maybe
Bigs-Gasol/TT/Zeller/Speights(maybe)

BPA with our picks remaining. Keep Walton and Jones for practice/depth

Might need to make a minor cap move to absorb the trade, unsure of our exact figures.

What? No way. Id rather pick 19 then those two. Let alone giving up two assets.

Instead of an And1, I want to give a Swat and Finger Wag

Andy is not an asset, he's a liability to us at this point. Gasol is still a really good player who could be resigned in 2014 for 2-3 years at a rate lower than 19m dollars. Artest is only included for a salary dump, but he's still a somewhat useful player in the NBA and he has a history with Mike Brown.

People treat pick 19 like we'll get anything other than a fringe rotation player. Although the fact that the last 3-5 pick #19's have been solid players is somewhat surprising. Historically it's a Hakim Warrick or a Pat Garrity type way more often than a Hickson or Illgauskus

Why give up any asset to bail the lakers out of tax money? You get compensated for saving a team 68 million.

Gasol would carry us to the playoffs. A Irving/Waiters/Porter/TT/Gasol team is sick. Resign Ellington and Speights and thats a second round team in the east.

How about the picking up Gasol via Amnesty this summer for that 7 million. No need to bail the Lakers out of Luxury tax land for an over priced player.

Realistically he would not come here unless via trade IMO. He would go to Houston....

I strongly doubt the Lakers will amnesty Gasol, someone would trade them something worthwhile for him.

Although in the event that he is amnestied, I'd absolutely bid on him

I definitely would like to see some trades go down this summer. Defensive minded ones preferably

I hate Artest, want him nowhere near our team. Guy is an idiot.

One small trade I am interested in seeing pursued is trying to get Jordan Hamilton from Denver. He was pegged as a potential lotto pick in '11 (can't remember if he WAS picked in the lotto or not), is on a cheap rookie deal, and I recall him having a nice diversified offensive game. I have not seen him enough on D to make a judgement, but with Brown coming back, it's relatively safe to assume he could make at the very least some marginal improvements from year to year. With all of the talk about big name FA's and high caliber trade targets, what do you guys think about targeting a prospect on a team giving minutes to Gallo, Wilson Chandler, and Iggy (provided he returns)- with prospect Quincy Miller coming off the bench.

GSW Trade Possibilities?

Post#418 » by AdonalFoyle4Prez » Sat May 18, 2013 12:47 am

GSW fan here. I was wondering what are your guys' take on Andersen Varejao? We're willing to part ways with Lee, a bonafide allstar in every facet of the word, but we think his contract will eat up into sealing a long-term deal for Klay Thompson and Harrison Barnes (who are untouchable, if you're wondering).

Would a straight up Varejao for Lee work for you guys?
