The three teams that will likely go to the Conference Finals with Miami are all small-market and are the three best defensive teams in the NBA (Memphis, Indiana, San Antonio). Kind of cool.

Small market teams can win. But they need better decision making/coaching then we have.

Truth.

Big market teams typically have a better ability to remedy stupid decisions than small market teams. They can take bigger risks, but it doesn't guarantee success.

Look at the spurs. 4 modern era rings. Being a small market complicates things, but it's not an outright excuse.
