I guess the T'Wolves are interested in OJ Mayo, maybe we turn him into Pekovic, who is pretty good. Much, much better than anything we have. He's good offensivly, rebouding, I am not too sure how good he is defensively, but I bet someone would know how good Pekovic is all around.

Pekovic isn't a great defender, but he would be a welcomed addition if we strike out on Dwight Howard. He brings toughness, is a above average-to-good rebounder and can score inside. If we have wings that can defend well, I'd be comfortable with having him as our starting center.

I'm all for it. He may cost a bit of money though.

Pekovic is a decent man to man defender. Not so much the help defender. With that being said, he's still a massive dude and clog the lane and is pretty mobile for his size. He has short arms so he's not much of a shotblocker. Rebounding wise, he would help our rebounding immensely. He would double our offensive rebounding singlehandedly. Offensively he's one of the better low post scorer in the league today. Gets his points from post ups, pick and rolls, and putbacks. He and Dirk would make a good high-low combo.

With that being said, I would only want us to get Pekovic if Dwight doesn't work out. If I have to choose between Pekovic or Al Jefferson, personally I'd want Pekovic, just because of his tough personality. We need someone like that in our team.

I agree with both comments above. I wouldn't mind Pekovic as a backup at all. As a starter, not sure he would even be a plan E, F or G option.

Better than what we have now but not good enough to start on a contender. Would rather wait on Gortat and or try to work a trade there. If we can get a PG this off season and take on guys like Mosgov / Dalembert / Tiago Splitter /and buy a late 1st round pic to snag a semi decent role playing center with size then I am cool as long as the PG is good and MCW / Schroeder would be cool as well so it looks to me like we need to get one of those guys in the draft with our pick and in the 2nd round if Wolters falls to us that far add another PG to stock up because an MCW is big enough to play SG as well and running a 2 PG offense would work to facilitate getting Dirk the ball better than a one PG offense and if one of them could shoot from downtown that would be very cool.

Calderon as a vet if cheap enough would be cool as well if we added a def. PG in the draft with that 1st pick and groomed him. MCW would be a monster defensive PG. Lets try to focus on getting a better backcourt this offseason and just get a defensive presence in the middle at center if we can make a move for Gortat because he is making a scene we would need to feed Pho some assets and younger players we draft that they like might be worth something to them so getting a 2nd 1st rounder would be important to get a player who could replace Gortat there and provide some trade chips down the road.

Jefferson's "defense" next to Dirk would be brutal to watch. We might as well resign Kaman. He would at least be cheaper.

Pekovic still has room to develop since he is so young and he would be my pick ahead of Bynum since he is healthier.

We really need a defensive oriented center next to Dirk imo and preferably an athletic one.
I think addressing the backcourt situation should be number one priority and then sign the best defensive center available within our cap space.
It's not like we will be trying to match up with dominating centers every night.

playoff matchups are what we need to take into consideration. If Roy Hibbert becomes the force of nature that defeats Miami this will be apparent.

The need for a real big is always going to be a gamble and with having a 7' PF to go big there this is something that would give us a huge advantage against other teams going big.

Memphis SAN OKC all are trying to get bigger if you take the smaller guy you leave the bigger guy for them to take and so we do have to also play keep away.

If SAN went after Bynum they could be set for a long time if he heals up okay. Pekovic is staying in MINN they will pay to keep him because he is too good and he is young. Bynum will want to play this next season having sat out a season so I am not worried about his tude. He may fit in here next to Dirty and because of his injury history he will be less expensive than he otherwise could have been.

That would mean we would have to hit on a PG in the draft and probably bring in some guys like Devin harris or resign Collison to keep some continuity. I think OJ played himself out of a significant raise but if MINN is interested in him perhaps we S&T each other and end up with Pekovic.

Tony Allen won't be cheap, there are guys we can get at SG that would wanto come here and if MCW or Schroeder make it to DFW I am confident we can find a vet to serve as insurance and that RC will invest in g heavy minutes early on so we can take advanatge of the time before the playoffs.

What would be funny is if we end up getting Bynum and also sign Gasol after he gets amnestied.
