yes he is , he has the worst hands since Kwame Brown but at least when Kwame caught a pass he could finish.

And I refuse to get into a message board pissing contest with anyone , who won't be honest enough to recognize what Perk does bring.
If you can't recognize what he does, I ain't wastin my time.
Done.
we do realise what he does bring but for a starting center who doesn't really produce on the offensive end (we just need one who can keep defense honest on that end with jumpers), he probably need to start limiting his turnovers or at the very least grab more rebounds for us.
Grabbing rebounds at the rate he did with Boston would be a good start for one. If you look at OKC starting lineup and see an area for improvement via trade or draft, it's kind of obvious that he's the easiest to improve from.

Perk did nothing more last night, than what I previously noted in this thread. He can't catch a cold and he makes terrible passes trying to make a great play, probably in an attempt to make amends. Everybody see's the problems with Perk. Its obvious. I'm sure Presti does too. I'm sure the coaching staff does also.
But the solution is difficult. And we might just have to live with Perkins. Because in the larger picture, with a healthy Russ, Perk is not a major cog.
Upgrading from Perkins is equivalent to achieving Peace in the Middle East? That helps clarify your expectations regardless of how tongue in cheek the comparison.
I don't care how difficult upgrading from Perkins is, it's not impossible. It should certainly be within the talents of Sam Presti. Rob Hennigan found a better center than Perkins during the first 3 months of being a GM, David Kahn found a better center than Perkins, there are teams with better back up centers than Perkins.
Every season Presti allows Perkins to pull the level of the team down is another partially wasted season of Durant's career. The problem is clear, now is the time to fix the problem.

And honestly ANYTHING is an upgrade, they ranked 29th in the league in production from the center position, and essentially all Perk is there for is to defend other "true" big men like Gasol and Z Bo, which he still hasn't done. It's gotta happen this offseason.

I've been saying it for a while he absolutely has to go.

He couldn't even finish a sandwich near the rim.

he doesn't HAVE to go, the cost won't be worth it for us, considering it'll probably take the pick. we should just limit his minutes more and more. More ibaka/Collison at C at the minimum regardless of who we draft, and if we draft a C, developmental minutes would be good.

That's a good point, but every minute he is on the active roster Brooks will be tempted to play him. I have no doubt in my mind about that.

I was thinking Perkins should be playing a role closer to that in which Thabeet played this season, perhaps with slightly more consistency in respect to his experience and leadership role within the team. Perkins would be fine in a limited role equal to his abilities.
I'm alright if Perkins stays, as long as the position is upgraded.

and sadly that is the biggest problem right now. We could probably land someone NBA ready at the draft (low upside maybe)? someone who just grab rebounds and set screens etc but would brooks play that guy or choose a more proven less productive player like Perkins?

It's the same situation this year that I've been ranting about. Lazar Hayward geting some pt while Lamb is in a suit. Lamb is more of an upside guy but he can definately provide more right now than Hayward. And Brooks has an even bigger man crush on Perkins. I agree he doesn't HAVE to go but I'm scared he'll get solidified, underserved minutes in the rotation if he stays.

You mean liggins? Lazar was traded away to Houston in the same trade that brought us Lamb/Martins.
Playing time has to essentially be earned and right now Liggins seem to have earned some. Perkins? not so much.

Liggins sorry, I knew something sounded off. He has earned minutes more than Perk has I agree, but I don't think he's neccessarily earned minutes over Lamb.

Why is Liggins playing over Lamb/Jones III, when he clearly isn't as talented?

i have no issue with the way that Brooks preach earning playing time but at the same time i wonder how Perkins manage to get his?
We could always go smaller to give Lamb/PJ3 some minutes. it's not like Ibaka/Collison can't play some minutes at C.

At this point I'd willingly give up our pick just to be rid of Perkins contract. Perkins + pick for jarron Collins?

“If you're getting stops and you're making threes and the other team's not scoring, that's when you're going to see a huge point difference there,” coach Billy Donovan said.

They might have to amnesty perk after all or just trade their lotto pick, perk, and pj3 for a broken down verajao....just play him like 10 minutes/game to save him for the playoffs..

He brings leadership and intangibles. Who else is Russ going to call late at night to complain about not getting enough shots? What Perk lacks in skills, he makes up for with championship experience.

You want your championship experience back? We'll throw in a couple picks too if your willing to
