i've never seen guard of honor type of thing but i've seen anatolia teams coming out with a congratulatory banners before. safe to say neither is going to happen without inciting riots in the stands.

I dont want them to give an applause for us anyway. They are dirty team with a mafia leader president. They did match-fixing, talked to the opponent's players to not to be at their best and they promised to transfer them at the end of the season. Their hands are full of dirt.

Wow, didn't expect a guard of honor, but this is something else:

Fenerbahce fan stabbed to death after Istanbul derby

We may have reached the lowest point in Turkish football. Everyone hates each other with a common hatred shown to the police. The lack of authority shown by the Turkish justice system in the match fixing trials and incompetence in punishing hooligans has brought hooliganism to this level. Everybody thinks they have a valid reason to dangerously hate each other, and since there will be no action taken it will only get worse. Except a riot in the Turkish Cup Final as well.

The kid was stabbed without any provocation from either sides. In silence with no way of showing the intent, just like an assassin. That is... I don't know what to say.

Very sad state for the Istanbul clubs indeed, but all hope is not lost for the nation as a whole!

New footage shows that the stabbed Fener fan was with his friends and started the confrontation by walking to 2 Gala fans. (Didn't watch, but read about it)

This makes more sense

Well 2 Galatasaray fans one with jersey are walking towards the bus station. Then they shook their hands because one of them was going to another direction. When the one with jersey was going down to reach the bus station, 10 Fenerbahce fans are going up to beat him up. He got afraid because it was 1 vs 10 and they were going to beat him up until he passed out. He stabbed one of them and all of those 10 people ran away from him. I really don't think that he would stay in jail many years. It is pretty much self-defense. However; why would you carry a knife with you is something that I will never understand for sure.

About banana thing. Well it is just one stupid individual. Racism is close to be nothing in Turkey. In fact, we have symphaty looking at black people.

Muslera is top 5 goalkeeper and photographer too.

5DOM; he is begging on his knees to come to us but our president said that we are not interested in him.

i thought he did a decent job given the circumstances. besiktas is worse than real when it comes to managers, last time they had the same manager for more than 2 years was 96.

Did you follow any Turkish news sources during his tenure?

On paper, being 3rd is not bad and it's certainly not a failure. What's not on paper?

1) Favoritism that resulted in an unknown medical staff to be hired and resulted in many injuries.
2) Not playing youngsters despite of having a reputation for playing them. He only played Özyakup because injuries forced him to do so, and even then he tried to put too much pressure on him by saying unnecessary things.
3) Terrible transfers. Özyakup was bought by İbrahim Altınsay, a former director. Escude, Gökhan Süzen and Dentinho were terrible choices in a situation were no penny should be spent unwisely. I'll give him credit for Olcay though if it was his idea to sign him. There is also a rumor floating that he didn't sign Gekas because his friend Mesut Bakkal(former manager of Gekas in Samsunspor) advised him not to do so due to an injury problem.
4) Not having a consistent style of play. At times the team played great, but didn't maintain the style. Many points were lost on final minutes of the games, and our defense was awful.

Even these can be tolerated somehow, but:

5) He thought this was just like his other experiences and underestimated the reputation of the club. Everything he(so oftenly) said was hurting the club, and it got to a point where he said gems like "I led this club, which was predicted to be in the relegation race by everyone, to 3rd place" and "I was a top 3 captain of all time in Beşiktaş".

To summarize, good riddance.

Turkey is in a mess right now so these charges don't get much attention in the press. But they are important, and may (deservedly) result in bans.

What's going on in Turkey right now? My brother is going to have to move his wife's family to his house because they are in bad financial circumstances. He'll be adding 3 more people to his household.
