Re: What player reminds you the most of Latrell Sprewell?
When Iman Shampurt went into chucking mode against the Grizzlies on national TV last year, it reminded me a lot of Sprewell.
I'm trying to think of a player who tries to score too much, but his really good lanky/athletic perimeter defender.

Paul George.
Nobody really, but if I had to pick someone, Paul George is who comes to mind just with playing style and team role.

That's actually pretty good, I see some similarities.

Stephen Jackson. Games are similar. A little bit of crazy is similar. I think people forget how good Capt Jack was when his mind was right.

I can agree with this! Sprewell was quicker though.

George is a better rebounder and defender, and quite a bit more restrained offensively. Sprewell was much dumber and more likely to let fly with bad shots. The Chucking Shump example was better.

Shumpert isn't a chucker, he's an offensively limited role player who picks his spots very carefully. Shump is also better defensively, slower and less agile, and can only shoot from a standstill.
My point being, there isn't anyone in the league who is identical to Sprewell, and anyone you can come up with is going to have substantial differences in playing style or skillset.
The answer to the OP's question is "no one", but the closest you're going to get is Paul George imo. Better rebounder by far, and defender, but his role and playing style is more similar than anyone. Sprewell was the designated stopper for the Knicks early decade, even if his defense was worse (which it was). He was an inconsistent shooter who could get hot from 3, and liked to slash to the rim. He did whatever his team needed him to do, whether focus on guarding the other teams best player or aggressively try to score.
Thats closer to George than anyone else.

Latrell Sprewell reminds me of J.R. Smith with less range, better defense, and Russell Westbrook's motor/energy.

I read the thread title and immediately thought of JR, though I like the Stephen Jackson suggestion earlier from earlier in the thread better.
investigate Adam Silver

People are talking about how George is better offensively. But he doesn't get to the rim as well and he shot an even lower FG percentage than the Golden State Latrell. And the people comparing a once NBA All 1st teamer and 4 time all star to J.R. Smith, whatever!

Latrell didn't deserve no first team award, and he got it the year Jordan stopped playing basketball anyway.

It's easy to dismiss Latrell now but when he was playing in Golden State he was a Top 5 SG in the league. Jordan even gave Sprewell his props, dude had game!

Tyreke Evans. He stuffs the box score like Sprewell, but he doesn't shoot it well from the perimeter.
