The eye test... As in, can you get into a song with you're eyes closed.

Daft Punk can sometimes pass it. But their videos were almost more interesting than the songs...

Macklemore... Classic example... Videos are interesting... Shut your eyes=change the channel fast

As long as there's no pretension to anything more than mindless entertainment...
The hype surrounding both Daft Punk's new album and Macklemore tunes me out, though.

The more mindless the better to me. I think too much normally so it's nice to turn off the brain.

I always liked macklemore pre-heist so why stop now. I'm not one to be turned off by hype so I'll give Daft Punk's new album a listen soon enough.
