I'm usually not for keeping more than one pick in drafts, but right now I sure hope we keep both. Hopefully with our pick we can find a way to either move up in the lotto or by trade to get Oladipo. Then with 26 we could possibly take a risk on a project or high risk player. There are a bunch of guys I would like to see us take a shot on at 26. If they are there (who knows at this point) KCP, Ledo, Withey, Adams, Adetokoubo, and Wolters are all guys that on super cheap salaries are great value.

Looks like he'd be a pretty good fit for us. Certainly cheaper than offering Mayo the full mid level(If we were looking at that). Pretty big difference in his projection from ESPN and DX - DX has him at 24 and ESPN has him at 14. Sounds like he has a bit of the Wes gene though, 74% of shots are jumpers? sounds like Wes - an athlete who is allergic to the paint.

BTW Flip just said on 1500 that at this point he envisions us keeping both 1sts.

Certainly cheaper than offering Mayo the full mid-level (by about 1/2), but how much productivity do you expect to get out or a rookie in the NBA some project to go in the 20's? For a team looking to finally crack into the playoff's is starting a Caldwell-Pope at SG the answer? I could see Adelman going back to Ridnour and Caldwell-Pope sitting on the bench.

Glad to hear that. Best chance to turn this team into a contender is to hit it big through the draft.

Just out of curiosity, who's going to be doing the scouting?

I'm sure Flip is doing his own scouting right now but I hope he has his scouts already lined up ready to go into Chicago for the draft combine tomorrow.

@DarrenWolfson: The #Twolves had R.J. Adelman scouting the Euroleague Final Four over the weekend in London.

I kind of thought that too, but I was hoping maybe Wes if Wes was actually able to shoot.

Wes' issue is he didn't seem comfortable getting free off the ball and he couldn't do anything on a strong closeout, but that video specifically highlighted Caldwell-Pope's ability to shake the defense on a strong closeout. I brought him up a month ago on a whim b/c he wasn't getting much publicity for some reason and b/c of his off the ball ability seemed like a logical fit, but I had no idea how strong he was pulling up and getting free off a dribble or 2 till seeing that video. Another thing I really like is his full court speed with and without the ball both look upper echelon. I'm pretty impressed right now. I wonder if he's going to climb the boards as draft day nears and the front office opinions start to leak out.

Glad to hear that we are keeping the picks as of right now. We need to get some young depth.

Caldwell-Pope's (let's call him C-Pope) numbers are very close to Paul George's from his sophomore year stuck playing on an equally bad Fresno team.

Draftexpress also have a vid up on Gorgui Dieng, and I think he looks like a great fit on our team. We really need a good defensive shot blocking C, to give us better big man defense and let Pekovic get more rest. He has a lot of good qualities and to be honest, his weaknesses are not all that. He can easily improve his build and get more consistent on D. He has all the tools to be a great back-up and possibly starter C. A shame he is in between our number 9 and 26 picks.

I'd trade Williams for Dieng in one of Lord Baldric's cocaine heartbeats.

If we could somehow end up with Caldwell-Pope and Dieng, I might need new pants on draft night

OJ Mayo is one of the best defenders in the league, hes a two way player and hes a great passer and playmaker.
