So we spend more on a backup big than our starting wings?

That team seems like a 7-9 seed in the East.

I don't think I can respect the opinion of anyone who can't even spell a player's name right.

Also, terrible plan. It's like you want to do the summer of CV and BG all over again.

Not even sure how this would work. Probably bad and another lottery year. But

Coach: Shaw
Knight/Billups (Vet/Leadership)
Iggy/Shabazz
Korver/Middleton
Monroe/Chris Anderson
Drummond/2nd Rounder or Slava

Wow, that's $21m on below average rotation guys. No way we should give out three mid level contacts on guys with no chance of being above average starters. These are always the worst type of contracts; giving out one is okay if you need a starter, two is a bad idea, three is a disaster.

I just don't see how that's an exciting or worthwhile team over the next 4 years. You see a 7th seed, which is a lame enough ceiling, but that team could also be this year's Toronto Raptors. No need to tie up that much cap space with guaranteed mediocrity.

I like this team more, much higher ceiling for our $20m+ investment. We might have to overpay Igg, but you're at least investing $14-5m on a guy you know could be a top 60 NBA player. And Korver is always underrated-- his shooting is so good that he's one of the best offensive players in advanced stats every year, and his defense isn't as bad as advertised (he rotates well and tries really hard). It wouldn't be ideal to have him out there for 30 minutes per, but I think him and Igg are a much more promising combo than Brewer/Henderson.

LOL @ Knight starting at the point. That's beyond laughable.

Unless the Pistons draft Porter or Saric to play SF, (I hate the idea of drafting Shabazz), I'd allow this year's two rookies, Singler and Middleton, to play all the minutes at SF. IMO, these guys are both going to be fine pros. As you know from my posts, I see Middleton as a potential star in this league, and Singler as a great glue guy for any team. I just don't see any compelling reason to target the SF position, either in the draft or in FA or via trade.

Focus on the guard position and on who plays behind Drummond and Monroe at C and PF. JJ should be in the mix here - that guy, two years out from his achilles injury really seemed to be his old self - finally. Energy is a skill, and he's a pretty good BB player besides. I can see JJ as a stretch 4 at times - I think he should become a very good 3 pt shooter. But we need some more beef in the front court off our bench. Indiana is proving that smashmouth BB has its place in this league- so the Pistons ought to move in that direction, especially since we've got a potentially dominant power front court developing right now.

Henderson? Brewer? J.Smith?

You guys want players with limited range and inconsistent offensive games?

You NEED to get players who can space the floor with their shooting ability and distribute the ball with a beast like Drummond inside.

I don't think Josh can play SF. He is an athletic PF.

*sighs*

I'm so close to trolling with a lineup prediction for next year post.

Get ready to see my Brandon Knight for Al Horford trade idea, guys Horford is a 2, i'm convinced of it, hes got quick feet.

Since this thread seems like an appropriate place, I'm just going to throw this idea out there...

Jennings/Stuckey/Joseph
Knight/Stuckey/Jenkins
Muhammad/Singler/Middleton
Bullwinkle/Drummond/Charlie V
Bynum/Drummond/Bullwinkle/Dalembert

-Pick up Muhammad in the draft
-We trade Jonas plus Clippers 2nd rounder to the Spurs for Cory Joseph
-We sign Bynum to a 3yr deal with 2yr team option+injury insurance...This will give Drummond time to develop his offense and Drummond can still play around 25-27mpg...
-We sign Jennings to 3yr deal with the 3rd year being a player option
-We trade English plus Pistons 2nd rounder to the Hawks for John Jenkins
-Sign Dalembert to a 2yr deal
-Save the rest of the cap space for a rainy day...

Do we have cap space after Jennings ($10m), Bynum (at least $10m), Bazz ($3m), and Dalembert ($4-5m)?

If we're going to sign a PG to a large deal, I'd rather have Monta Ellis (defense AND offense) over Jennings (volume chucker).

And no need for Bynum.
