Drummond screwed by all-rookie voting...

Post#1 » by bardobeing » Wed May 15, 2013 6:19 pm

Let's at least represent in today's RealGM poll on who'll be the best rookie from his draft class.

I don't know about you, but IMHO he'll be viewed as the best from that class within 2 or 3 years.

Apparently Canada is wrecking that poll. LOL Valancunias is going to be a role player at best in the NBA.

I don't care much about the All Rookie team or its voters, but that's just plain silly.

I can give Harrison Barnes a pass since there were no other forwards, but why did both inefficient off guards (Waiters, Beal) BOTH need to get nods over Andre? How about instead of an extra guard you make room for an extra center?

Pure stupidity.

Voters lost a lot of credibility with the all-defensive and all-rookie teams.

Waiters over Dre is a joke, but someone else mentioned Gasol being left off the defensive first team, which is even crazier. Doesn't matter though. Dre is going to be special and we will have the last laugh when he starts racking up DPOYs ala BWall

By any statistical metric, Barnes was worse than Waiters or Beal. Barnes gets more credit from most fans because he played a lot on a good team (and because people like him as a person?), but he was a bad starter this year.

Also, yeah, this shows how little thought people put in to voting for these things.

All-nba/defense/rookie teams usually feature a few "Oops, must've voted with a blind fold on" type of selections. No surprise.
