If Zach Randolph win a ring, will he make HOF?

If ZBo win a ring this year as the best player in the final winning FMVP, would he make the HOF after he retired?

What if he wins a ring but isn't the FMVP, maybe only 2nd or 3rd best player in final after Marc Gasol, is he still a HOFer?

Yes but after a few decades of waiting. Without the Finals MVP, never.

I think it depends on how the rest of his career unfolds. Does he decline from here, or does he consistently put up 18-8 for a few more seasons?

Heck no, unless he gets finals mvp somehow and dominates in the finals as well.

If he's final MVP, yup. Beating the Heat will be seen as an all time great upset.

No way, he had way too many years when he was a neutral or slightly net negative to his teams.
Abolish the draft. Abolish the rookie scale. Make teams try to win.

This is seriously such a hard thing to picture. He was such a joke of a player before he came to Memphis (not so much his talent but his personality) and if someone told me he would be a candidate for FMVP in a few seasons there's just no way I would believe them

Yeah, this is what people aren't taking into account. In this scenario it's extremely likely that he beats Miami without HCA. The whole world outside of South Beach and Lebron jockers roots heavily against them. Remember how much appreciation we showed for Dirk in 11? Yeah, a lot of that was because a great player finally broke through but a lot of it was because he did what everyone wanted so badly since that infamous pre-season parade: he shut the bad guys up and sent them home.

For Z Bo to be the best player in a series that peak Lebron was playing in would be legendary, and make him a really, really well liked player.

I hope not, but wouldn't be surprised if it happened. I'd assume that Gasol would be the better player in a Finals series anyway.

No, I do not believe he would make the HOF, in less it took like 30 years or something.

His career is not that impressive, and last year he was terrible, not very good this year either.

If he wins the title this year, it won't really be his title, Marc Gasol was the best player on the Grizzlies.

An FMVP would do Zach some favors though, I wouldn't be surprised if everyone who has won one has made the HOF so far. But like I said, chances are Marc should be the favorite to win it (well, it's probably 50-50, since Zbo is the primary scorer, so he would get more recognition than he deserves in some cases).

5-time AS, MIP, All-NBA 3rd Team a few years ago, 5-time 20 ppg scorer, big-time rebounder, and a ring as a major focal player? Yeah, I think he'd make it on his 2nd-4th opportunity to enter.

2 ASGs unless you are projecting he's making more

Anyways one of the problems for Zbo is he's surprisingly in his 12th season. That draft has a lot of players who feel washed up and old right now - Pau, Joe Johnson, JRich, Battier, RJ, Gerald Wallace. Parker, Tyson Chandler and Zbo are the guys best holding on. One could interpret Zbo's weak regular season statistically as the beginning of the end just from age, albeit he's played excellent in the PS

Phone typo, I was doing the scoring and AS thing and my iphone took over

His seasonal numbers come more from the balanced Memphis O than from decline.

he sure isn't going to be elected based upon his first 8 seasons. He's going to have to be Moses-Malone like for the next half dozen years and he'll be 32 in July

winning a finals MVP would give him momentum though. You probably have to go back to Cedric Maxwell to find a finals MVP that isn't/won't-be in the HOF

Billup as well.

But if the Grizzlies were to beat San Antonio, then beat Miami, Z-Bo would have had to have played at a level that Billups and Maxwell never came close to. He would have had to been what he was in the 2011 First Round for two straight important, tough series'. That type of peak mixed with longevity (he's 31 and has already had 8 seasons of at least 18/8) makes him a HOFer definitely.

Unfortunately that peak didn't happen, so he won't make the Hall, barring some unforeseen circumstance.
