Tyreke Evans
For the right price , I think Tyreke could be a good fit. Of course , he wouldn't solve our perimeter shooting issues. But he is a guy that can create his own shot , and shots for others , and do so at an efficient rate. I think he'd be worth a shot . . .

Re: Tyreke Evans
He did improve his 3-point shot last season, and he's still young enough that he could still improve it more moving forward.

I'd like him, I think he fits well next to Knight also. Something like 4/34 would be ideal, although Kings would match that. If we got him we'd need a real sharpshooter at Small Forward.

Re: Tyreke Evans
Could the OP please make a case for Evans? Facts about Tyreke: he's a super ball-dominant guy with a great spin move and a good euro step. He's a very bad shooter from mid or long range, so he wouldn't help our obvious need. He's also not a good creator-- he's averaging under 5 assists per game for his career, despite averaging 35 minutes per game. His assist rate is quite low for someone that has the ball in his hands that much, lower than Knight and much lower than Stuckey, neither of whom are good creators.
He's also never been interested in defense and has never shown willingness to play a team concept. And I doubt we could get him for less than 4 years $40m.
So knowing these things, what's a compelling case for Reke?

Re: Tyreke Evans
I like Evans but i'd only want him at the rate of a Billups type deal when he first came here. If we'd want him, we'd have to S&T to get him. It would cost Knight. I'm not overpaying Evans to add him. He looks like a big head case.

Bleacher Report has us as the 3rd most likely destination for Evans, (assuming he leaves SAC), behind only PHX and UTAH.

Evans is better at passing and heaven forbid a better shooter.

Re: Tyreke Evans
I haven't watched much of Evans, but I think we can all agree that he has been in a terrible organization. Would a change of scenery help? Probably. Is he Stuckey 2.0 except more expensive? Not sure about it, but with the lack of free agent SGs this year, I think we need to consider giving him an offer or working a sign/trade with SacTown. Of course, if we get lucky in the lottery and walk away with McLemore, then we don't have to worry about this, which would certainly be preferable.

Worst comparison ever. Evans is one of the best finishers at the rim in the league. Stuckey is one of the worst.
The only thing they have in common is both are big/strong and great penetrators. The difference is when Evans gets to the rim, he finishes, and Stuckey yells "hey" because he missed.

I wouldn't mind Evans if we could get him on a nice contract...Knight/Evans/Muhammad/Monroe/Drummond would be a nice starting 5...Even though Evans can't shot well, he has good handling skills, he plays defense, and he can finish well around the rim...

I'm saying neither can't shoot the ball particularly well.

Sorry, goldtop, but Evans shot around 52% at the rim over the last three seasons. That's quite close to Stuckey's numbers (around 50%) and miles from the 'best finishers in the game,' even among points and wings. Lebron shot over 70%, guys like Iggy and Tony Parker are over 60% on high volume.

You should be sorry because Evans shot 64% at the rim in 2013, 65% in 2012, and 62% in 2011. lol
You got some wrong stats from somewhere.
That's about 64% avg over the last 3 yrs. Parker avg 67% past 3 yrs. Stuckey avg 55% past 3 yrs.

For some reason, people on this board LOVE to rag on guards from other lotto teams even though they are better than our gaurds; Evans, Jennings, Wall, Ellis, Kemba, Mayo, Vasquez etc. get no love over here but they're much better at their positions than Stuckey and Knight.

You're right, my stats were for the paint, not just dunks and lay ups.
Don't you think your stats are misleading though? They imply that Evans is awesome when he penetrates while Stuck is terrible, but if you looks at the overall in-the-paint stats, you see that Evans doesn't have a runner, floater, long lay-in etc if he gets closer to but not RIGHT at the cup.
More generally, I think it's pretty clear via eye test that Evans is a bit better than Stuckey-- he's quicker and stronger-- but they are fairly similar players. They have the same basic style-- penetrate using their strong hands, get to the line at a good rate, decent at dumping the ball to shooters while driving, lazy defending and bad midrange shooting. And their advanced stats are very similar. Same usage, assist %, steal %; Evans is a bit better at PER, efg%, and true shooting, while Stuckey had a small advantage in offensive rating and win shares per minute.

Re: Tyreke Evans
Evans, is better than Stuckey. IMO, he just isn't a good guy to target this offseason.
1) Don't want him unless he can continue to improve his 3-point shot
2) Even if he can, he's a RFA who Sacto's likely to match on
3) Only way I take him is if we can S&T for him with some combination of Stuckey, Singler, and/or Jerebko.
