A lot of people think he should come off the bench because offensively he reminds them of Jason Terry. But if Jason Terry was a good defender and less selfish early in his career like Knight is, wouldn't Terry have been considered a more viable building block as a starter.
...and then Terry never did learn how to get to the level defensively that Knight is already at...and was one of the top 3 contributors on a Championship team because he played for a coach that played to his strengths rather.
Just saying....

THIS
At worst Knight is a 6th Man type for a quality team
At best he's a reasonable starting PG in a league stacked at that position: Rondo, Kemba, Rose, Irving, Lawson, Curry, CP3, Jennings, Rubio, Conley, Deron, Holiday, Lillard, Wall the list goes on and on
Anyone that expects Knight to be a top 10 or top 15 PG next season will be disappointed IMO

...I will agree that Knight is just too far away in dribbling and passing to strike me as a guy who could become a Star. But I disagree with the guys we hear on out local radios and many of you that because this league is stacked with offensive point guards, Detroit somehow how needs to match them with an offensive point guard. Sometimes the best answer to multiple teams having strong offensive options...is to counter them with a defensive option at the position. If the Pistons can find other half court options to run the offense thru, Knight is a good enough shooter to compliment them offensively.
He only needs to become smarter and play within himself offensively which will cut down those turnovers. I disagree that he needs to become a true point guard or top pick and roll player to be a building block. He's a good defender, he's feisty, tough, and does enough things well enough that I could see him as a leader despite lack of natural point guard instincts.

Someone said this earlier , but Jason Terry is exactly who Brandon Knight looks like he'll be. He could become more than that , but even if JET is is ceiling , that's a very good player to have on the roster.
