DTS scouting Lionel Hollins?

Post#1 » by Neddy » Mon May 20, 2013 1:29 am

i just caught this rumor from hoopshype
Marc Stein: Clips, I'm told, have NOT asked to interview Spurs' in-demand Mike Budenholzer. Suggests Sterling was thus scouting free agent-to-be Hollins Twitter @ESPNSteinLine

and found this link to spurs forum

Like the Clipper fan on the Spurs site, I'd probably be more interested in David Joerger. Although, if Hollins were the target, I'd hope Joerger would follow him here.

As a coach, Hollins is a CRYER!!! This guy cries over every call, that may be the reason why Gasol, Randolph & a few other Grizzlies are whiners!
Hollins is a good coach, don't want him, don't won't the Clippers to become cry babies.

You cannot be serious. If you have a chance to get Lionel Hollins who is a MAJOR upgrade over VDN you get him. It's a moot point anyway as I believe Memphis will ink him to an extension.

Mot a big fan of VDN, but I have really watched Hollins on the sidelines the past 2 years (approx. 10 games at Staples) he is always crying. The guy complains about every call & how his teams are on the short end.
I don't care if he is or isn't the Clippers next head coach, but he wouldn't be my choice.
Get a young guy and piss the Laker fans off in one swoop........... Brian Shaw

Didn't VDN out coach Hollins last year? I mean Hollins allowed Rudy Gay's style of play to hamper the team and didn't reloy go full inside out until Hollinger and the front office forced him to by trading Gay.

it seems to be a lateral move to me. maybe a slight improvement. but hollins was hated just as much by his own fanbase as vinny and since we don't have marc gasol or zbo on our roster, i don't see how his defense can be translated here. DJ's playing time has greatly impacted his stats, as his per36 stats do show a double double player but whether he can stay focused for that duration everygame to achieve 13-10 is another story. he is however, a .60 + player in terms of true shooting. his per is above 17. his defensive rating is at 101 and offensive rating at 113. maybe there is still untapped potential there. i just have no clue of hollins being the coach to tap into that "potential". a stretch big to me is still the better fit for blake over DJ.

hey but nothing has happened yet, so many factors still lie ahead for us until the ST.
ehhhhh f it.
