Just a random thought.
Amare for Bargnani+Fields.
New York tries to go in a different direction, since the Melo/Amare experiment didn't work. Bargnani can play stretch 4, Melo can slide back to the 3. Fields is filler for salary reasons...maybe he can recapture that rookie success, but he's an afterthought ultimately.
Toronto's direction after the Gay trade indicates a desire for playoff contention, and Bargnani has lost most of his fans within the fanbase. Perhaps a Lowry/Ross/Gay/Amare/Val lineup could do some damage in the East. Big gamble for them since you can never count on Amare's health, but it's not like they're getting anything positive from Andrea and Landry at this point anyways.
What do you all think?

No.
Bargnani is atrocious, I'd rather keep Amare. And Fields is just a minus.

My lifetime better have a Knicks championship.

I'd do it from Torontos perspective.

2 expiring vets that help now. A young big to add to the Scottie timeline
I'd prefer to keep Stew and give Monte Morris
I'd really prefer to keep Morris and Stew and give the great Killian Hayes and 2nd round picks

Despite New York likely trying to move Amar'e Stoudemire at all costs, I dislike it. Stoudemire is bad, but Andrea Bargnani is the absolute worst.
What New York should be after is dealing Stoudemire for couple of defensive-minded role players off the bench -- such to the D.C. Wizards for Emeka Okafor and Trevor Ariza -- to build around Mike Woodson's iso-oriented, 4-out/1-in stationary offense and switch-heavy D, since that's the way to go with Melo as the franchise cornerstone.
Yes, that may look like a flawed premise; however, it's the only way forward for the next couple of years based on the team's current roster construction. Shoot, if a franchise is going to build around Melo, then attempt to copy what the A.I. led, Larry Brown coached Sixers did at the turn of the millennium.

You Knick fans are funny. You should jump at the chance to move Amare and his god-awful contract. His knees are shot and you would likely have to include a sweetener just to get somebody to take the contract off your hands.

I would absolutely not do this from Toronto's perspective. Mainly because we can amnesty Bargnani and then we have Fields taking up about 7 million cap vs. Amare's 20+. Amare is just too injured and not known for his defense at all.

I would have said yes to this months ago but, Amare's knees aren't worth Bargnani's 13 game guarantee of greatness. His recent injury along with the uninsured contract ain't worth the gamble.

Man, I'm the furthest thing from a Knicks fan and also despise Stoudemire's game. Regardless of that, though, Andrea Bargnani is arguably the most damaging player in the entire NBA today. Not only is he a defensive sieve that's got a seemingly phobic aversion to the boards, but his inefficient offense makes him a two-way catastrophe. If given the choice between the lesser of two evils, I'm taking Stoudemire without a second thought.

No one wants any of these players, so the only way to trade any of them is to offer a team a number 1 pick ++ to take on their contracts. NY and Tor need to trade with teams with available cap space. In reality thought, no one will bite on a trade for any of these players.

I'd rather the Raptors amnesty Bargs and keep Fields to raise his value. Better then getting the worst contract in the league in Amare.
