What will Al Jefferson get offered?

Post#1 » by turk3d » Mon May 20, 2013 3:57 pm

Curious what you guys think. It looks like he's a FA. Wonder what kind of interest he's going to get and if anyone will be offering him a long term deal.

4/48
3/36 with 4th yr team opt.

at least 10+/yr for sure, if bozo's like Jordan/Mcgee can get 10+ I dont see why Al couldn't, at least he's able to do more than just dunk.

I could see him going to whoever misses on D-12. 4 yrs/$52M.

Probably less than he's getting now, but still 8 figures. He has his flaws but he's still a legit starting C who can rebound and score in the post. A number of teams can use that.

I wouldn't even be surprised to see Utah try to re-sign him; I don't know if he's a good bet to return but I see it as more likely than Millsap.

Probably Zach Randolph money is his target. They have a similar game and skill set.

Wouldn't be upset if the Cavs offered him anything under 14 million a season.

I would, Big Al is not a good fit in Cleveland.
Well at least we're not Detroit!

I think this year you may see teams really start to look the new tax hits. So as a result of that guys who are not all star level will be getting paid a bit less with less years. So that leaves a team to decided if Al Jefferson is your main guy.

I think he will be getting an average of 11-13 a year with a 2-3 year deal. so 2 year 22 is his low end with maybe a 3 year 40 top end. You can add a team option on the 3rd or 4th yea, so the end deal looks bigger but not really going to kill the team if it does not work out.

I think 4/50 seems about right.

And I see him going to pretty much any of the teams that strike out on Dwight..
ATL, DAL, HOU
PHI if they don't keep Bynum,
PHO perhaps

I think that with all the players out there who got big deals the past couple of years and have underperformed, in addition to the the way the new CBA is structured which includes more severe luxury taxes you may not see as many teams throwing big money out there for guys who really aren't franchise type players of which Al is not.

It will be interesting to see what teams do this offseason. Guys like Al may have a tough time getting the kind of deals they're used to.

Interesting.. I keep forgetting they only have $41m in salary for next season but Manu and Splitter are FA.

Yeah I guess Manu will definitely be back, but I could see them parting ways with Splitter if they fall short this year or if a better opportunity presents itself.

I really hope the Raptors are in on Big Al. A sign and trade of Kleiza//Gray/Ross/Lucas to the Jazz and we sign him for 4/38m. a 3 man rotation of AL/Amir/Val is dirty.

think Utah be better off just letting him walk then pay those guys, they already have a shaky project SG in Alex Burk

I honestly think the spurs have the best chance at getting Dwight if he wants to leave the LA mess behind.
If he truly wants to win SA is an excellent option.

Way too many teams have way too much to spend this year and the FA class sucks rox.
I expect Al to get MIN 4/50. I believe hell get closer to 60 than 50 . Itll be a bidding war. Theres really no one else to sign that will have an impact on your franchise other than Josh Smith whos gonna get the Max.
