No, Lee would eat into our 2014 plan. Not only that but Mike Brown LOVES Varejao.

What is the consensus on Tristan Thompson?

Speaking for all Cavs fans (which I have no right to do) I would say that we really like Tristan.

Considering he was supposed to be very raw offensively - the improvement in his game in just one offseason has been awesome. And it will finally be great to have a defensive coach to improve that side of his game as well

TT is at the very least, the vocal leader of the team, and Kyrie could learn a lot from him.

We're willing to part ways with Lee, a bonafide allstar in every facet of the word, but we think his contract will eat up into sealing a long-term deal for Klay Thompson and Harrison Barnes (who are untouchable, if you're wondering).

Would a straight up Varejao for Lee work for you guys?

Unless the word is "Defense".

As others mentioned, Thompson took a huge leap forward last season. He's still very young, and seems to fit what they want to do. I don't think they'd be looking to move him. Not untouchable, but you'd have to be talkine Aldridge coming back kind of deal I would thing.

I'm not a true Cavs fan (I'm a Pacers mod), but I've lived in Cleveland for 5 years now, so you can take my view with a grain of salt.

I think the Cavs view Tristan right on target. They knew he'd be a solid defensive player, a raw offensive player, and a vocal friend/teammate of Kyrie. He's been all those things, though a bit better defensively earlier than anticipated. His offensive game appears to be coming around. He's still super young and he works very hard. This off-season will likely be the biggest indicator of his future in the league. I'd anticipate it would take an awful lot to net Tristan from the Cavs, especially since he's a long-time friend and teammate of Kyrie from the AAU days.

Fair enough lol

What would you consider fair value then? (and don't say Jeff Green because AV is falling apart and is not worth that)

Hmm, do the Celtics own any 2014 picks?

They have their own but they won't be trading a 1st rounder in next years draft for an injury-prone center

^^^ exactly, Boston shouldn't be looking for players like varejao to help them contend anyway, they need to trade off pierce and garnett, tank, and start their rebuild already.

Anyone that calls Varejao sidshow bob shouldn't be making trades involving him and probably shouldn't even be posting on the Cavs page.

This stinks. If this is all Varejao is worth we might as well keep him.

If that is one's perception, then there is no reason to pursue trading for him.

What's the perception on Varejao on right now? What the Cavs plan on doing at this point...
