This is exactly what it is. MLSE does not want to admit that they made a mistake by hiring him and lets BC "stick around" until he finds another job.

I highly doubt he will be seen or heard again relating to the Raptors organization after he's done with the draft lottery.

He brought shame to this franchise and he the entire 'respect' angle was a load of croak. The Raptors are still the Craptors no thanks to Bryan the Slumdog millionaire.

Honest to God, what team/GM were you watching these past 7 years because it wasn't this one?

You don't think when we made the playoffs it was good for the franchise? Since 2006 you were a BC hater? I highly doubt that. I am pretty sure 2006-2009 BC had many supporters than he does today. The ups and downs what makes this team, but it's good to see what the GM does with this franchise.

You can only succeed selling snake oil for so long before you get called out.

BC morphed into the ShamWow guy: all presence and no substance and the same tired lines trotted out to sell his crap.

Are you referring to career winning percentage with us? He most certainly did not have the best record of all our GMs.

You said it was a great ride but the last time his team exceeded expectations was 2006-07. That's 6 years ago. That's not a ride like a roller coaster, that's a free-fall.

Of course he had more support in the beginning including my unbridled support, he was hired with what looked like a great track record in Phoenix and exuded confidence and professionalism. He looked like the best hire in Raptor franchise history. But 7 years is more than long enough to recognize failure and alter that opinion. As much as any Raptor fan would like it to have been otherwise, his tenure was more about rhetoric and excuses than anything that screams successful. Unfortunately some fans eat those excuses up year after year.

As for the ups and downs, 47 wins his first season was the only year that he finished above 500. 6 years of .500 ball or worse followed including 5 straight lottery appearances and zero playoff series wins his entire run. Now he's created a capped out team that remains in the lottery and doesn't have it's own draft pick. If you think his tenure was full of many ups along with the downs, you obviously have a lower threshold than most for what normal fans consider success. Hell, the good moments virtually ended after that 1st season as the team fell far below expectations his 2nd year before become permanent lottery material season 3.

So if by up's and down's you mean that the franchise had 1 season of 'up' following by 6 straight seasons of 'down' then yes, I guess he did. And whoever takes over is going to have a hell of a time improving this team. The talent is middling at best, the assets are thin and the cap situation is bleak. It's really unfortunate that this move wasn't made 12 months ago because a lot of damage was done here while BC scrambled to save his job.

I appreciate you BC, because only you could last this long in a city such as Toronto after missing the playoffs the last 5 years, and providing 6 straight years of no winning basketball in the Weak East, with no true superstar, no pick in this year's draft and a capped out roster for a couple more years. Only you could have the foresight to destroy the team's cap by overpaying for marginal talent (i.e. Kapono- 6 years 24 M, Kleiza- 18.8 M over 4 years, Fred Jones- 12 M over 3 years, Turk- 53 M over 5 years, Fields- 19 M over three years, and outbidding yourself by paying 45 M over 5 years to Calderon, 50 M over 5 years to Bargnani, and around 40 M over 4 years to DD).

Thank you for your bad trades (essentially trading Hibbert for damaged goods O'Neal), trading a first round pick for James Johnson, and then dealing him for a second round pick a year later, or the Marion trade with Miami; which gave Miami Cap Space to sign Bosh and Lebron James outright with no compensation for Toronto, because Riley forced you to take Marcus Banks and his 5M a year contract.

Thank you for the excellent Coaches you brought in, along with your terrific draft day decisions (i.e. passing on Drummond for T-Ross). Thank you for making a great city like Toronto one of the laughing stocks for the league, with your insistence upon building a team around a 7 footer who could not grab a rebound to save his life. In general, you are from all accounts a nice guy, and i hope MLSE makes you head of Sales and Marketing, because you are a slick salesman who does a great job selling "Hope". Thank you BC for a great 7 years.

Thanks Bryan for the commitment you made to this city and to the team even though it didn't turn out the way we all wanted it too.

Good luck
