#2 - We most certainly CAN trade our pick.....on draft night. At that point, its no longer a 'future' draft pick. The rule is that a team cannot trade two consecutive FUTURE draft picks.

Thats the problem with the #1 pick. Its always the next future pick. You would have to draft the player and then trade him. That is very hard to do. Trading a pick is one thing but trading the player picked #1 is another. The Jazz have np trading a future 1st for a HoF SG. What they would not do is trade Magic Johnson for said SG.


You have to go back to CWebb to find a guy who was drafted 1st and then traded. However the Clippers traded a 1st to dump Baron Davis and it became the #1 pick. No way the Clips would do that deal if they had the #1 pick.

PP is right and also its not that hard to trade a player we picked. Teams understand the rules, and there's ways around them

If we get one we stay at the pick. This draft sucks. Only way I trade downbis if bobcats are at 3 and want to work a deal to give us 3, our owed pick to them and maybe something else like a Biyombo/English swapbto move up.

honestly if we win, we should be looking at Noel or Burke. Noel off our bench behind drummond would be wicked defensively and or huge trade asset this and next year. or Burke who i think is a impact player. We could trade knight at that point to address other areas.
