Poll: Who would you take at #3?

Post#1 » by Piston Pete » Tue May 21, 2013 11:28 am

1) We move up to #3 in the draft lottery
2) Noel and McLemore are drafted 1-2 (in whatever order)

What do you do?

Hope McLemore falls, if he doesn't trade.

^this.

Burke might be the player Detroit feels they have to draft at this position.

I would almost hate for them to land there. Either get an opportunity to take McLemore, or stay at 7 or 8.

I'd trade the pick if we can pick up a 2014 first rounder (loaded draft), plus a mid-to late lottery pick in this draft.

I like the talent that we can choose from where the Pistons are selecting (7 or 8). We're going to get to select from one or more of McLemore, Oladipo, MCW, McCollum, Bennett, KCP, Saric and even the guy I'd hate to draft, Shabazz. My favorite is MCW.

I'd much rather not pay top 3 dollars to the guys I most want in this draft. McLemore scares me because he's so damn passive. His agility time was pretty lousy, but I'm assuming that was because he blew that test, not because he's not a great athlete. Oladipo is a role player coming into this league, so I'd rather not pay him as a star player, although I think he'd be really good in Detroit.

Even later in the lottery or just outside the lottery, we could grab Hardaway or Rice or Schroeder - guys who might prove to be as good as anyone in this draft.

Give me burke all day,but to be honest that is a hard one,my top 3 burke, dipo, mclemore
PG-Burke,Knight
SG-Gordon or arron a,stuckey
SF-Wilson chandler,khris middleton,Singler
PF-Monroe,FA,Jonas
C-Dre,FA,Monroe
If we culd somehow make a trade to grab another 1st in the teens and grab zeller and make him our 3rd big that would be awesome.

Porter. Then make a trade and get a late lottery pick and get KCP.

I'd probably take Burke, but really its not much better situation at 3 then it is at 7.

Put it this way, if we stay at 7 and got Shabazz or Oladipo instead of Burke, I would be equally happy with those pick instead, and not disappointed at all that we didn't get Burke.

Thats the good things about this draft. Literally whoever Joe picks, as long as its not a big man, I'll be happy with the pick, and not disappointed that he didn't pick such and such instead.

Porter all the way. He is a more athletic and offensively gifted Tayshaun and that isn't bad for this draft.

Sign Iggy and a Backup big and we are looking pretty solid next year.

PG: Knight
SG: Iggy
SF: Porter

I'd probably lean towards Porter because small foward is our biggest need. I'd be damn near tempted to take Burke which probably is a reach at 3.

I'm not a big fan of Burke in the pros. But, I always have that thought in the back of my head that he could easily make me regret the proclamation.

That's why I almost feel it's better for Detroit to land in their most probably destination of 7 or 8. There's less guess work there than at 3. Most of the players on Detroit's upper tiers will be gone and they'll have less relative risk to reward.

I voted Dip. I wouldnt mind Porter, but his weight scares me a little. does anybody know how many bench press reps he did at the combine?

I also wouldnt mind trading back to 6 or 7 adding another high 2nd rounder and taking whoever falls to us.

i voted Burke because not only would he fill a need at PG, it'll be a big boost for the team and their fans. He's a big name and that may bring in more fans

this. Porter fits the Pistons style and i think both him and KCP will be better than Dipo, Burke or Bazz

Glad someone agrees :-) I think that would be a great combo. I know the Pistons would like Dipo or McLemore, but KCP could be quite the scorer, and he will certainly be available to us.

As awesome as that would be, what do you trade for that late lottery pick? I can't immediately think of anything other than Knight, and I'm not sure that's a great idea. Who's the PG then?

I'd go with Oladipo. I'd be shocked if he ended up better than every player drafted after third, but darned if I know who will end up good and who will end up being a bust, and I'm pretty sure Oladipo will, barring major injury, be at least a good starter, and stylistically he seems like a perfect fit for the team.

CV or Stuckey and a early 2nd rounder to a team that needs cap room.
- to Orlando for Turkoglu
- to Dallas for Marion
- for just about anyone on Phoenix's f--ked up roster
