With BC handling the chores can we target a Hollinger-type?

Just throwing this out there for discussion. Not every analytic nerd out there is capable of dealing with all aspects of the basketball empire that's been created here in Toronto. It's probably why MLSE grew as impressed with BC as they did. They like how he handles the off the court operations. If we can't attract a well-rounded, reasonably experienced candidate like Masai or Pritchard does BC's role allow us to go after more of a Hollinger-type that otherwise may have seemed too green and specialized for the big chair? Does today's news allow us to now target some younger, analytic-types who seemed too specialized before?

I absolutely would like to go after a GM that is going to incorporate analytics into his decision making process but I think its silly to assume BC still being part of the organization would effect who we choose as GM...

BC is moving on. This 'President' is a basically empty title. His main job description is: Go find a new job ASAP

It seems that the new trend is to hire analytics background GMs. I wouldn't mind one for this team at all. Although if we do get an analytics crazy GM, rudy gay and DD might run him insane.

I agree with this that BC is almost certainly not going to be here long term, but presumably if this is a structure that TL is comfortable with, he could still hire someone else (or move someone within the organization like Stefanski) to become the new President of the Raptors while leaving our new "rain-man" savant to manage the on-court product.

Unless you are telling me that :
Analytics could have predicted that players like Mark Gasol would lose "50" pounds and become such a force.
that Analytics could have predicted that players like Z-Bo would finally get his acts together and focus on basketball "to boost up his PER"
That analytics could have predicted that players like Conley would have been such late-bloomer.

Use analytics to monitor what players could improve and work on, nothing else!! No Hollinger here please!

Leiweke on Prime Time Sports said this was a multi-year deal.

Hence why the Tennebaum meddling angle doesn't make sense. There is something else going on here.

That is interesting.

I suppose it makes sense. They probably were not going to give him his old salary so instead of picking up option created new deal...

Still fact remains that this is likely not a long term gig for BC. He wants to be the man and a decision maker... He and TL both have said that he is looking for new job
