Preliminary, Who you Got at #8?

Post#1 » by ComboGuardCity » Wed May 22, 2013 2:23 am

I'll do this every couple weeks to get a change of how perceived value changes.

Assumptions:

1. Noel
2. Mclemore
3. Burke
4. Oladipo
5. Porter

are all gone.

Post your reasoning as well

Shabazz

Likely to be there. Fills a glaring need as go-to scorer and wing player. Feels a lot like the Drummond pick where a consensus top-3 guy going into the season drops because of some productivity and character concerns (with hopefully the same outcome!). Not the hugest fan, but will be now.

Second pick would be MCW. A huge, true PG would be a dream come true. The PnR with Drummond gets me jittery.

Bazz or Pope. Im 50/50.... happy either way. Pissed if the pick isn't one of them though.

Shabazz. At 8, Burke/Porter/Mac/Dipo will all be gone...and Shabazz has a high upside.

Is this who you want or who you think we will pick? I know KCP has fans here but does anyone think he is seriously in the mix at 8?

I was going more for who you want because if you want him you probably think he'll show he's better than the rest in workouts.

I think we'd have to go with Shabazz at this point.
high potential and fills a need. what more can we hope for at 8?

I voted Shabazz. I read a tweet that said that Dallas is probably going to try and trade their first round pick so they can have as much cap space as possible for Dwight. I wonder if they'd be willing to trade their first round pick for both our second rounders? That way we could possibly get Shabazz & Carter-Williams, or maybe Schroeder

Muhammad wouldnt be there sadly, both NOLA and Sacto need SFs and he's the 2nd of this draft by far, it depends on Orlando, if they grab Burke, Muhammad would go top7, even top6.

Also he'll rise with the workouts.

Its McCollum for me, no doubt.

I take Zeller. He can play the four, meaning we could have a three headed big rotation of Drummond, Monroe and Zeller each playing 32 minutes or so. Get a coach that plays to this strength of always having two strong bigs on the court at all times.

At #8, we have to seriously consider SF Dario Saric.

1) Extremely skilled
2) 6'10" SF who is still only 19 years old
3) Total team player
4) Great passer
5) Strong desire to win
6) Tons of good SG prospects in this draft. Drafting a SF in lottery makes trading back up into mid-to-late 1st round for a SG a real possibility. Likewise, take a SG in the lottery, and there are no good SFs later.

I think the top few guys we should be looking at = Saric, Shabazz, KCP, Bennett, Len, Shroeder, McCollum, and MCW

I'd lean toward drafting for another team... let's get someone that has already proven himself.

Might be better off staying at #8 and hoping whoever we take pans out. Not sure what kind of "proven" talent we could get for #8 in what many call a weak draft.

#8 to ATL for #17 and #18 might be good too.

Then go 14+21, Utah would do that if they can draft McCollum they've trying to add a scoring guard for two years, they wanted Lillard last year even before he made that jump and get draft at 6, they wre planning on getting him at 8 if the ygot the warriors pick.

ShaMu. All other relevant wings and the one point guard they may have been taken are all off the board.

ShaMu is likely the only player left with all-star potential.

I would crap myself if we came out of this draft with ShaMu and Schroeder.
