I don't think anyone can know unless the Lakers organization or Mike Brown say so. I know most of us are thinking that we have to pay the difference between what he makes in Clev vs what he has left on our contract, but this is a coaches contract, not a players, so that may not be the case. It is possible we are not paying him anymore.

While I am not in the fire D'Antoni camp, I was not in the fire Mike Brown camp, either.

I thought his stressing defense and his idea to run Robinson - Duncan sets for Bynum/Howard and Gasol was the way to go with this team.

The reality at the end of the day is that it doesn't matter who the coach is or what system is said to be utilized, it's all on what Kobe wants to do. No system is designed for the volume - shooting two guard to take more shots than the whole front line combined, particularly when that front line consists of two all - stars.

I would also add that I'm sure it wasn't D'Antoni's idea to play Kobe all those minutes, it was Kobe's doing. So until Kobe decides to let the coach coach, it doesn't really matter who the coach is.

Pretty sure he will be getting what is owed to him.

There may be some sophisticated language in the contract that lessens the owed money from the Lakers, but I would have to imagine that Mike's legal counsel makes sure that a dime is not left on the table.

Certainly is the risk you run when you hire the wrong guy, realize it and then have to pay him out otherwise.

Lesson here is be very careful who you hitch the wagon too, they will be going through this same exercise once Dantoni is fired at some point next season, assuming he makes it through the summer.

Terrible move. Just like it was a terrible move to offer Pringles a multi year deal. Ugh.

The thought of firing Dantoni and signing another coach is sad simply because we would be paying 3 coaches fairly big money.

BRIAN SHAW should have gotten a chance from Day 1 after phil retired. Hes doing great things in indiana, especially working with Lance Stephenson on developing his game.

Coaches salaries arent involved in the salary cap. I dont think, as fans, we should care a whole lot if the Lakers are paying 3 or 4 coaches next season.

However i am sure there were concrete stipulations in the contract that discussed what would happen if he got fired and hired somewhere else. I imagine its pretty standard.

How does that make you better than the Lin, Gallo, and Wil fans who root for them over NY?
