Tim Tebow released

Post#1 » by LAKESHOW » Mon Apr 29, 2013 3:44 pm

This shows what kind of organization the Jets are. Brought the dude. In for circus purposes. Had no real intention oon using him. And once any and all selling power was sucked out of the kid...cut him. The jets organization is embarrassing

I'm thinking Jacksonville would be a very good destination for him. We already know their owner is a Tebow fan, plus I believe Jacksonville is also Florida Gator territory, so he would already have an established fan base there.

As a Jet fan, I'm not going to argue this. It was a waste of time, money, and a traded pick.

Tebow needs to go to Canada and prove he can play real football before any NFL team will give him a viable shot again.

They would sell tickets for the first few weeks before the novelty wears off. People love Tebow here, but fans are becoming a little edgy because of how stagnant this franchise has become.

It also doesn't seem likely since they signed two QBs as UDFA's (Jordan Rodgers and Matt Scott) and don't have a roster spot for him. Canada seems the most likely, though I believe he could break some records in the AFL.

How exactly did a network make Tim Tebow an incredibly mediocre quarterback?

I don't see why he wouldn't go this route. Get a chance to show what he can do then come back to the NFL. Only other thing I could see is him going to a team like the Pats, Packers, etc where everybody knows he's not the best guy and learning behind them.

ESPN destroyed his career. He's not a very good QB but ESPN hyped him up to be something better than he was, hence the problem.

And as expected he's cleared waivers.

They didn't, but they did create (at least in part) the media circus that surrounds him 24/7. If he were just John Doe the backup QB, he might have a shot at signing on somewhere given his success in Denver. But no one is going to want the headache of all the media attention he brings for the payoff of his mediocre talent.

The biggest reason he hasn't found a home though is that he's not ready to face the music and try out at tight end/H-back or whatever.

FWIW, I'm not saying the Tebow media circus is entirely the media's fault. Tebow has brought a lot of it on himself by cultivating the media's interest in him.

Someone needs to give the guy a chance. If he dies, he dies.

Ah hell, who am I fooling, I just want to see the circus. :D

Tebow had a chance to be traded from Denver to Jacksonville. He made the choice to be traded to the NY Jets instead.

Although, I truly believe that he's a good dude, I also believe that he enjoys the limelight & circus atmosphere that follows him.

i think its because he realized that he's not going to be much of a football player where he wants to be, so might as well get all the marketing you can. make that money boy
