my first choice would be to trade back with OKC or Utah and take Schroder at 12 or 14 and bwa with the other pick (21,29). I wouldnt even mind trading with Atlanta (17,18), but Schroders probably off the board at 17. if im forced to take sombody at 8 im going Zeller or possibly Bennett, if hes willing to accept and embrace the fact that hes a PF.

Selecting Len or Gobert could give us 48 straight minutes of rim-protection per game at center.

Caldwell-Pope. He's a remorseless perimeter gunner in half-court sets, with about 80% of his attempts from the field being jump shots. Most scouts see that as a bug; for the Pistons, I think it's a feature. Despite supposedly questionable shot selection, his true shooting percentage is right around 60%. He's a very good athlete, good in the open court and a good individual perimeter defender. If Oladipo and Burke are gone, I think he's the best fit, which makes him first among equal question mark prospects.

We need 3 point shooters, we need a small forward, we need a point guard. Otto Parker is probably the guy detroit would like most. A few pg's with plus and minus.

I totally agree. Hes what Detroit needs.

I don't really see any playmakers in Detroit's range. Theres not really any in the draft other than MCW.

Oh, I know. I was just saying that one of the Pistons' biggest needs is finding an elite playmaker(s).

I've never watched him play because I don't have the time or the opportunity to watch international league bball...but I have read glowing reports about his playmaking ability.
Rondo with a jumper?? What's not to like? Obviously, the Pistons have to put the time and effort to bring him along and I just don't see it happening because of the current state of ownership and the management.

Excellent last 5 posts. Pope might be the best fit in the draft for us. Or so might MCW. Or so might McCollum who I believe will prove to be a willing and talented passer - somewhat in the the Curry mode, although not likely to be that elite of a player.

I say pick the best player from that group of 3, or Bennett if he's in a higher Tier and available. We cannot know for sure who will be the best fit with Knight, since we cannot know for sure at this moment in time what Knight's best role will be and what his ceiling is.

I'd love it if Joe gets to pick his top choice from that group of 4 players. There's a very good chance that a couple of them will be gone before we select. Noel, Burke, McLemore, Porter, Oladipo for sure will go ahead of #8. Zeller and Len figure to be in the mix for the top 7, as perhaps might Steven Adams. Shabazz, Goebert and Schroeder seem like more remote choices to go in the top 7.

I continue to believe Shabazz is in great danger of falling outside the top 15. But Schroeder could very well have enough intrigue as an international prospect with a Rondo-like reputation, to be a possible top 8 pick, but I doubt at this time that he'd be a Pistons pick. I see Joe going for a more known quantity, unless Schroeder just kicks everyone's ass in the team workouts.
