Re: *BREAKING* Bears won't re-sign Urlacher

Post#1 » by BIGGIEsmalls 23 » Wed May 22, 2013 1:24 pm

NFL.com reports: Brian Urlacher isn't close to finding a new home in the NFL if he's expecting that destination to be Minnesota.

Coach Leslie Frazier told the NFL Network on Wednesday that the Vikings aren't near a deal with Urlacher, as was reported over the weekend, and prefer to take a long look at the options on the current roster before considering other alternatives.

I wonder if he will be even picked up by a team this season. I think that he made a huge mistake by not accepting the Bears offer. He should have accepted it & used this season as his swan song. Therefore, retiring gracefully at the end of next season.

Is there any chance in hell that he will come back to the Bears at the offer they made? I'd like to see him back at a reasonable rate still, and stranger things have happened. It does indeed look like he's going to be without a job, or at least without a starting job, unless it's in chicago.

Karma bites Urlacher in the butt. He played great for us and I won't take that away from him, but the last few years and him bickering about the city and the fans, I've had enough of him.

Sucks he went out this way, but that's what happens when you badmouth your fan base when on a decline.

Left on questionable terms, seemed to kick and scream his way out the door. But he's the best Bear I've seen in my lifetime, and a surefire Hall of Famer.

Wow. I basically called it a couple hours before it happened. I wasn't trying to at all.

That being said.............

Thank you for all the memories that you provided for myself & other Chicago Bears fans.

Brian Urlacher Retires

Glad that he decided to hang it up. Would rather think of him only as a Chicago Bear and not as a broken down Viking. :D Kudos to all he did in a Bear uniform. While I didn't like his attitude at times, he was a mainstay of this team and one of our sole stars for the longest time.

If the Bulls do, you would be complaining to much to ever hear it.

NBA fan logic we need to trade one of two best players because (Player X) one needs to shine more.

It sucks that he couldn't get a job elsewhere. It seemed before his injury in the last game of the season he had a lot left in the tank.

Urlacher Would Consider Career In TV

Brian Urlacher could find employment as a television analyst now that he is retired from the NFL.

"I don’t know how good I’d be at that," Urlacher told the Tribune. "It would take a lot of work to get me ready for it. But that might be something I look into."

Urlacher was a regular paid guest on Fox Chicago’s "The Final Word" with host Lou Canellis the past three seasons.

Ray Lewis immediately found work with ESPN upon retirement, but nobody has reached out to Urlchaer yet.

I loved Urlacher as a player, but he's less than average as a speaker. His commercials are boring & barely audible, IMHO.

He's a better speaker than Hester, but there's no way that I feel he could be entertaining as a TV analyst.

it was tough to blindly trust a brand new coaching staff and Emery to handle this sight unseen. Yet the Bears apparently handled this perfectly. They offered to overpay the guy. Can't ask anything else from the Bears in this situation.

And the analyst stuff...
I agree with Biggie, I don't see it. IMO, unless he becomes more controversial, he has a boring media personality.

He did say he has respect for everyone in the building except for one guy.

"Ninety-nine percent of the people in that building (Halas Hall) I respect, I have the utmost respect for. There's one person I could really take or leave."
