I think he's an improvement over Joel, but it seems a little odd to talk about a 48-4 record, when the guy plays 15mpg.

No, but the point of your post was downplay how well they're playing; the point of my post was to say that you're downplaying it too much. I didn't even dispute the notion that they're over-performed in close games, I just think you're over estimating how much that's impacted their record. Which I demonstrated.

Second, focusing on a team's best stretch in comparison to other team's full season is very unfair.

This is a completely separate point from judging the level of their play during the stretch. My point was to give points of comparison for their level of play. You were the one saying that a 10.77 MOV is not truly a 75 win pace performance, and that close game luck has inflated their record over the stretch. My point was simply to go the next step and look at how much luck might have inflated their record (at most 5 games) and what a 10.77 MOV means (it compares favorably to the best teams of all time). That doesn't mean other teams haven't had comparable or better great stretches as well. It's just putting the numbers you threw out there into perspective.

Birdman is still obscenely underrated around here, I see.

His WS/48 this year (.207) is the same as it was in 10'-11' with Denver. His TS% was actually *higher* that year, his TS% this year is identical to his 09'-10' year. Oh, and Birdman's PER this year, 17.4, is actually only his *fifth* highest ever. He also sported an impressive 17% TRB% and 5.8 Block%...but I guess that was all a creation of LBJ and Wade too, right?

The fact is, Birdman has ALWAYS been an incredibly huge, efficient, and talented limited minute player.

He has a career PER of 16.6 with a 114 ORtg and 101 DRtg for a reason.

Give the man some damn respect.

Perfect role player

Fills the Heat need and makes them tougher.

How did Bosh get 1 rebound last night and the Heat not lose. Birdman. Bosh hardly has to try and the Heat still win.

Spo should definitely gives him more playing time than Haslem. Haslem has a been a liability on both ends on the court. Mike Miller needs to get some minutes over Haslem too. He'll hit a few three's and get a few rebounds.

PG-Chalmers
SG-Wade
SF-LeBron
PF-Bosh
C-Birdman

Second unit

PG-Cole
SG-Allen
SF-Battier
PF-Haslem
C- Bosh
Thanks for all the great memories, LeBron! The show must go on! #Heatnation

No, you're right. It's obnoxious. If people find that schtick funny then they probably also enjoy the comical stylings of Carlos Mencia.

Birdman's got a big enough history with the police, he doesn't need anymore.
