Post Lottery Draft Thread.
The other Thread is like 80 pages long now so I figured why not make a new one. If thats redundant just merge it with the other thread.
Anyways at pick #8 I would be happy with one of 4 prospects:
(Obviously if Mac, Porter, Burke or Dipo fell we take them)
1. MCP - Extremely athletic, great finisher on the break and possibly the best 3pt shot in the Draft. He also seems to be very assertive on the defensive end, especially playing passing lanes. He does make some questionable decisions and his ball handling and finishing in traffic/half court setting is lacking.
2. Shabazz - Great finisher through contact/traffic, solid athlete and maybe the best pure scorer in the draft aside from maybe McCollum. He isn't very quick laterally and will have a tough time guarding SG's and he is a bit small for the bigger SF's. He also has had some attitude concerns and his work ethic is a bit suspect.
3. Saric - Huge 6'10 SF that can absolutely play the position. He has a solid perimeter game and good handles, but he really shines in his court vision and passing accuracy. He isn't a great athlete and isn't very quick laterally.
4. MCW - 6'6 PG's who have his type of court vision don't come around often. He is also one of the few PG's in this draft I wouldn't mind pairing with Knight. MCW has the ability to score from anywhere and as the necessary quickness/size to guard PG's and SG's in the NBA. Where he struggles is inconsistency in his ability to score. It is weird though because some games he looks unstoppable and others he just can't put the ball in the hoop. Regardless he has a knack for finding open players and clearly has the ability to be a scorer.
I am not high on McCollum, Bennet or Crabbe for our team and I feel like there will be to good of SG/SF available to justify taking a back-up big (Zeller/Len/Adams).

Re: Post Lottery Draft Thread.
Out of the four I would take Muhammed. He is the best fit for us with what need. It is the wing scoring spot. If he is gone and Zeller is there, I might take him. He would be a solid fit in a three man big rotation. I like Lein but the minutes are simply not there with Dre on board. I'd also consider McCollum if we could deal Knight for a wing player.

Look for new Minnesota Timberwolves president of basketball operations Flip Saunders to engage Charlotte, holders of the No. 4 pick in next month's draft, in trade talks.
According to league sources, Saunders is a big fan of Indiana guard Victor Oladipo, and the only way to get him is to move up from the ninth-spot.
If the Wolves stay at No. 9, one league source predicts Saunders will take UCLA's Shabazz Muhammad. Word has it that the Wolves like him. But so does Detroit, and they pick one spot ahead of the Wolves

I would be OK with any of the 4 I listed, but after combing over all the draft prospects over the past week I really like MCP and Saric a lot for our team.

Re: Post Lottery Draft Thread.
KCP or McCollum - big time scorers.
MCW - intriguing, love a big PG, but he can't shoot
Saric - could be very interesting havig a 6'10" SF with high BB IQ
Hate Shamu with #8, but maybe #18

Shabazz certainly has the potential to be a steal on the level of Monroe/Drummond, but unlike those two he has had some serious questions thrown his way in terms of work ethic/attitude which are bad signs for a rookie coming onto a young team.

I think there are some serious questions you need to ask yourself when thinking about drafting Shabazz. Especially since there are some very talented Wings available that don't have his question marks.

It's KCP or Muhammad for me, but I think KCP fits this team better. I don't understand why he's that low on the mocks. the more I see videos of him, the more I think he could be a good choice for us.

Actually Monroe and Drummond both had big red flags about their motor. That's partly why team passed on them. Drummond especially, teams thought he wasn't serious about the game and was lazy. Monroe, teams thought he lacked the drive needed to play in the NBA.
I've heard questions about Shabazz's attitude in terms of him possibly not being a team player, but all accounts of his drive/work ethic are actually two of his strengths.
I'm not saying I'm 100% sold on him, but this is the first time I think I've read a credible journalist say that we like Shabazz. All the other reporters just mention him in the mix for us at 8, imo because he's just a big name in our range, but I don't think any of them ever said that we actually liked Shabazz until now. I personally had no idea what Joe thought of him, which is all that matters. So if this report is true, that's good to hear for the Shabazz fans.

All the prospects have question marks, especially those expected to still be on the board at 8. If they were perfect they'd be taken #1. But I don't really see all these other talented perimeter players you're talking about. I think Shabazz is by far the most talented at 8. To me its more a question of whether someone better from the top 7 may still be there, in which case it would be a tougher decision. But out of MCW, KCP, Saric, and Shabazz, no question I'd take Shabazz out of that group.

I see. In other Teams forums, I see threads going to 100 multiple times and on the Magic forum, they are on Number 31st Speculation Thread each going to 100. But, I get it.

Re: Post Lottery Draft Thread.
The guy I just absolutely don't want is MCW. I live in the northeast and watched a lot of Big East hoops this year, and I'm sorry, but the kid couldn't hit water from a boat with his jumper. He needs to land on the right team to be successful, and we are just a horrible fit for him; if he was our PG, teams would just sag off him and crowd Monroe and Drummond. With our big men already in place, we desperately need scorers (and especially shooters), and that's exactly what MCW is not. I think he'd actually be a perfect fit on Dallas with Dirk and a re-signed Mayo, but of course, Dallas is apparently looking to deal their pick so that's a moot point.

Re: Post Lottery Draft Thread.
After thinking about it, I wouldn't even mind McCollum. I prefer other guys but McCollum is a scorer and his 3 ball is absolutely deadly. He fits what we need around Moose and Dre...
I'm also not worried about the "combo guard" label. If he can ball then take him.

Re: Post Lottery Draft Thread.
Being there are no "Perceived" elite talents in this draft, I do see many players that look solid. I really don't see any losers out there and would be happy with many players that should be available at #8 that could end up being as good as Knight if not better. I do like MCW and McCollum amongst others when I watched them in games though. They could develop into a solid players. But, I am sold on Baz if he is available.
