Michael Kay & plummeting YES ratings...

Post#1 » by Dr. Detfink » Fri May 24, 2013 8:07 pm

I guess for a guy whose bread & butter is yapping, it was a matter of time. Look, I'm sorry. This Yankee team is exciting from a true baseball fan's perspective. Often low scoring, VERY loooong drawn out games of strategy and key plays in the dying moments.

The younger generation was raised on roid ball. Scores of 6-5. The long ball. All of this superstar, record assaulting hype.

That's just not realistic without PEDS.

A slugger who hits 40 home runs with an average of .200-240 BA is realistic. BTW note how no one talks about Ryan Howard anymore (or Pujols).

A lead off hitter who runs in the .250-280 range might be realistic.

ONE over .300 hitter might be your superstar.

I think the game has changed but unfortunately it does NOT favor the franchise's plan to STUFF the seats full of fans willing to pay top $$$$$$ and as for cable TV, I'm sorry that's NOT cheap EITHER.

I think MLB is in for a shock heading into the next CBA. the Money is NOT there (from what THEY want).

Thoughts?
