I wanted Thibs so bad before he first signed with Chicago. The main flaw that he has is that he can run his players into the ground, but other than that he is phenomenal.

i have respect for a coach that can maximize his players... the way he coached the bulls without drose, and at times no noah/boozer and still win? sheeeesh, look how vdn did without cp3 #failbot

I agree. To me that is a true coach. I like coaches that can work with they have (tailor-made game plan that works to the strengths of their personnel) as opposed to just running the same system everywhere they go. I also like to see coaches that can keep their team competitive even when the chips are down and guys are out. It's very seldom that things are totally ideal, so you still need to be able function in the event that things don't go according to plan.

a coach who tailor-make his game plan ; larry brown. that's why larry isn't afraid to change scenery regardless of how bad the new team seems... like the early 90s clippers

a coach who runs same offensive scheme wherever he goes ; phil jackson. that's why he handpicks only certain teams that already have a championship roster that fits his triangle, yet his disciples such as kurt rambis fail with the same system with lesser teams.
ehhhhh f it.

Source: Chris Paul 'angry' with Clips

"He's angry right now and his anger is directed toward the Clippers organization," the source said. "Chris is a man of principle and if he feels like you've gone against his principles, it will affect how he feels about you. He's very agitated that his name has been put out there as the reason for Vinny's firing. He had nothing to do with it."

True or not, Del Negro believes Paul got him fired, according to a source close to the Clippers' ex-coach. The source added that Del Negro had no idea during the regular season or the playoffs that Paul wanted him out. During an appearance on "The Dan Patrick Show," Del Negro implied on Thursday that Paul was the reason he was let go.

"The front office's feelings about getting rid of Vinny were strong enough that the players didn't need to get involved," a source said.

"The reason Vinny is no longer the Clippers' coach is because the front office didn't think he was the guy that could get them where they were trying to go. The players didn't have anything to do with it."

I was actually wondering when something would come put about Paul's response to all the implications that he got VDN fires, or at least was part of the reasoning. I mean he can read all the same articles and watch all the same videos, and if I'm a team wanting to get him, I'm getting someone, somewhere to make sure that he does.

Same. DTS should know a lot of things by now (longest tenured owner in the NBA), but hasn't learned much. Never say anything to people like Simers. He's not your friend, he's going to take whatever you said and manipulate the situation. DTS made his work even easier by not even sugar coating it. Just sit down, write checks and keep your mouth shut.

With all of that said, it's that time of the year and the rumors are going to run rampant. This one is juicy and it sells itself. We'll have to wait to see just how true it is(n't). I'm confident he'll be back, but fans of certain teams are loving it right now.
