Thanasis Adetokunmpo

Post#1 » by Greek » Sat May 25, 2013 5:44 am

What about the other Adetokunmbo? from what ive read is 6'7 SF, and actually the better athlete from the brothers. Whats his scouting report? does has any chance to sneak on the 2nd round?

I'm pretty sure a guy named Thanasis Adetokunmpo will never be an impact player in this league. way too many syllables.

Pretty solid reasoning.

Giannis Antetokounmpo is the first one. He will probably be picked in the first round of this draft.

As for the topic in question now. Thanasis is the better athlete but he's older than Giannis and he isn't as skilled as his brother either. He could go in the second round, though, if some team saw enough potential in him.

Now, I don't want to back-room moderate here but I think that this topic would fit better in the NBA Draft subsection. Can it be moved there?

Well the tv commentators did basically change Predrag's name cause they couldn't be bothered to pronounce it correctly.

They'll probably end up calling him Thano Ante or something.

Now, this would be quite funny actually. Imagine if they do and then Ante Tomić comes as well (he should, by the way). It will be funny as hell

Also, I don't get why they changed Predrag's name. It's quite easy to say and I'm not Serbian either.

most commentator are quite tongue-tied when trying to spell foreign names. Neither Predrag nor Thanasis is really difficult.

THey didn't "change" it. Peja is diminutive for Predrag in serbian, just like Aleksandar > Sasha

Yeah, you're right. We called him Peja in Greece as well but we had no problem saying Predrag either. I was mostly wondering why they couldn't pronounce Predrag in the first place.

Look, some of the most popular names on this side of the pond are "Bob", "Mike", and "Sam". Predrag might as well be antidisestablishmentarianism. :P

I've seen little of him so I may be off. But the impression I have is he's one of those wings who's an elite athlete and perfect for a dunk contest, but is lacking the skill and feel game to be more than an 14th/15th man to D Leaguer

he does have the prototype size, length and athleticism for a wing.
he's a little later in his development so him being so raw doesn't help.
another eyenga maybe? he does have some great tools to work with though.

He's not exactly killing it in the d-league. He could get drafted, but i don't see him sticking in the NBA

Are they really brother's? Why has no-one asked why they have different last names? Yet so similar.
