Makes sense.
Just because you're unproven as a head coach in this league doesn't mean you don't have other worthy credentials. It's like comparing kids out of college.... is it okay to compare Wiggins and Parker next year over kids that will go undrafted? All are unproven in the NBA, but it's okay to prefer some over others.
OK, but I'm pretty sure sunsfan didn't look into the two candidates he didn't want and just presumed they weren't as good as Bud or Joerger.
And you know that how?
I don't talk about people that I haven't researched. I did my homework on both Clifford and Bickerstaff.

This is bad. Especially with Memphis bowing out so fast, we could have had Joerger by waiting just 2-3 more days.
No doubt that this is a publicity stunt. The Suns FO knows there are idiot fans who will get all excited about a former Sun Hornacek returning as coach.
This guy is about as passive as it gets. If our players were walking all over Gentry, guys like Beasley will pummel over Hornacek. Highly doubtful that he will earn the respect of our players.
Hornacek is hardly the disciplinarian this team needs.
I really liked the McDonough hire though so I will trust his gut on this one and give Hornacek the benefit of the doubt. Assuming that he made the hire and not Sarver...

Someone please tell me what makes Joerger a better coach than Hornacek...

I wanted a proven coach but horny is one of the few first time coaches I was keen on
I think he will be a great addition

And how do you know it? Perhaps Joerger isn't even interested in coaching the Suns. It's obvious that the Suns will be bad next season, no matter who's the head coach. Some guys may not want to have a 20-win season in their resume.

Because you say so?

So who cares? I think McDonough understands that whoever comes into PHX as HC will be given at least more than 2 years to prove their worth here. I don't think a guy like Joerger or whoever we hire won't get fired just cause they won 20 games next season. That's the expectation. So he can either come here and try to be part of the rebuilding project for the Suns and help revive this team or stay as an assistant for Memphis. I would think he chooses the coming to PHX option cause of being a HC.
