Re: Bobcats 2013 Draft Prospects/Workouts Thread
I'm utterly surprised McLemore managed to average 2.1 turnovers a game as little as he handled the ball and my post wasn't to make a point or critique him turnover-wise. I just stated that he was a liability when opposing teams decided to full-court press because he wasn't comfortable putting the ball on the floor around defenders so Self would usually sub him out.

Well it works both ways. He seldom handled the ball yet somehow managed to frequently score. And like I said, Kemba Walker would be feeding him and reinforcing this same game plan. He gets few touches and the few touches occur right before 3 pointers and dunks. Sounds like a deal to me.

Re: Bobcats 2013 Draft Prospects/Workouts Thread
We all know how McLemore managed to frequently score while seldomly handling the ball at Kansas. Self did a excellent job of calling sets that allowed McLemore to get open off flare and/or backdoor screens not to mention taking advantage of his shooting ability against the number of teams that played zone defense in college ball throughout the majority of the game. The gameplans that will be used in the NBA against McLemore will make it much easier to negate his shooting ability by having a defender stick to him knowing that 3-point shooting is his only true threat.

Sure offenses can fixate on him but that opens the floor for Kemba and MKG. His mere presence, because of his ability to shoot, creates space for the rest of the offense. Furthermore, if you "stick" to him to guard his 3 point shooting ability, couldn't he just use his athleticism to shake said defender and draw upon his high IQ to move without the ball and alley oop dunk? He has been known to do that.

Re: Bobcats 2013 Draft Prospects/Workouts Thread
I don't want a SG that just creates space for Kemba and MKG to operate because the both of them will still lack enough room to operate in the paint as long as we have inept scoring big men. Our offense would turn into the current state of the Grizzlies' offense against the Spurs minus Gasol and Randolph where they are daring Conley to be their primary scorer and Tayshaun to go isolation. I want a SG that Kemba and MKG can occasionally defer to offensively to create his own shot or forced enough help defense to allow his teammates to get open. As far as McLemore shaking a defender off the ball for a alley oop, sure that's possible but no more than 2 times per game, if that. If we're going to go SG in which I hope not then it better be Oladipo since he is a much more diverse player. It's not like Oladipo can't shoot at all. Oladipo has a very dependable jump shot that he can stand to expand his range on to become a certified all-star caliber player.

No matter how many times u try to spin it oladipo is not a better prospect then McLemore

No matter how many times anybody try to flip the conversation of who's the better player between McLemore and Oladipo it's only a matter of opinion until they start playing NBA games.

Interesting fun fact that I ran into on another board. Ben McLemore is the only prospect on Chad Ford's Big Board top 5 not to crack the top 50 in Hollinger's college PER. In fact, if you wanted to expand the field to top 100 in Hollinger's college PER he still wouldn't make the list. Does that mean that he's less dimensional than the other prospects?

Maybe it is on purpose and Grizzlies want him.

Hollinger's PER is correct but it don't take rocket science to recognize that McLemore is currently a one-dimensional player that doesn't impact the game much outside of spot shooting. He's a decent player and all but he didn't pass my eye test as someone that I'd want our team to select with a top 5 pick.
