I like him around #10 or #12. Would not want in the top 5.

Same. If I have to see his goofy parents every time he scores I don't want him at all though.

I wouldn't mind taking Marions contract from the Mavs for their 13th pick and scooping him up, but I doubt he last that far.

do not want ... unless we trade down.
My picks:
2020 Draft (3rd pick) - Tyrese Haliburton, Devin Vassell, or Onyeka Okongwu
2021 Draft (11th pick) - Moses Moody

If we decided to get Oladipo I wouldn't mind making a move to pick up Zeller as well a few picks later. They seem like pretty good friends and both fill needs.

I would love to hear what our resident Hoosier expert JMAC3 has to say about Zeller after his very insightful analysis in the Oladipo thread.

Re: The Cody Zeller Thread
Honestly I think Zeller would have been smart to stay another year in school. He would of benefited from having another year to show off a midrange game and get stronger. As well as take his "soft" label off.
The thing he does best is run the floor. He always seems to know where he is even when catching the ball running full speed. The other thing he does exceptionally well is finish through contact. I know people say he struggles when playing taller players, which is true somewhat, but most players are not going to be as effective against taller longer players, that's what makes them good. He struggled against Syracuses zone because they had 2 guys challenging every single one of his shots, that will not be the case at the next level. Also, I think that he could of gotten a few more calls in that game, but I may be biased, due to the fact that game was beyond frustrating.
Indiana players and coaches rave about Zellers ability to shoot the ball, but hardly ever does he take these shots during the game. He has good form on his free throws and knocks them down at a good clip for a 7 footer. I think if the coaches would of allowed for him to take these shots it would of opened the game up for him in the post, but instead they forced him to live on the block, which made him one dimensional.
His athleticism is overlooked though because he has a very good second jump and his rebounding has improved immensely from his freshman year. He is now able to jump straight up and grab boards in a crowd, whereas his freshman year he struggled with that. His defense is pretty solid, and he has some highlight blocks, but he is really good pick and roll defender due to his ability to slide horizontally with guards, and then quickly recover back to the big. He also, does a good job of staying out of foul trouble which is impressive at the college level for a big, especially when teams usually gameplan to get him in foul trouble.
The biggest concern I have with him, is he does not always do a great job commanding the ball on the post. He scores most of the time he gets it there, shown by his high efficiency, but he didn't always seem like he wanted to be the center of the offense. The only game he really took over this year was against Michigan when we came back late. He has several really good post moves though, especially a series of moves that he uses on the baseline, almost unstoppable from that spot.
Overall, I think he will be a better college player than an NBA player. I see him being a rich mans Tyler Hansbrough or a cross of him and Spencer Hawes. Brings energy, rebounds well, can knock down open midrange shots, and will finish unorthodox shots through contact. I think he has a better back to the basket game than Hansbrough, but a slightly lower motor. He also has better size and a higher BBIQ than Tyler. I see him as a very solid starter, but not an Allstar. Should be a better version of his brother.

Re: The Cody Zeller Thread
Is it just me or does he love going left? Seems like his favorite post move is to spin right and blow by his defender on the left. Does his postgame consist of more than just outquicking guys to the rim? On one hand it's nice that he seems to have a go-to move already but for someone that seems to have pretty good IQ it's kind of concerning that he isn't a bit more versatile.

Re: The Cody Zeller Thread
I know Zeller is not the most popular pick on these board, but other than Maclemore he is my favorite to be picked at 4.
Here is why:
Sure he didn't have a good tournament or didn't improve that much from his freshman season. But is that really important in this years draft. Who out of top picks had a great tournament? Burke and no one else. Ben was bad, Porter failed to advance from the first round, Oladipo was ok but nothing spectacular. And some could argue that Oladipo had a better season because Zeller drew so much attention from other teams. And while Zeller didn't improve that much he did improve his biggest weakness rebounding.
Zeller has all the tools to be a great pick and roll big man in this league. He has the speed, footwork, great hands and touch around the rim. And in some ways he would be a great compliment to Biyombo who could cover some of Zellers weaknesses. To me he is a Valanciunas type with better speed and shoot. Sort of poor mans Gasol and the potential to be a David Lee type of player.
To me Zeller is the most underrated player in this draft and I expect him to go top 5 when its all said and done.

Cody Zeller = Raef LaFrentz, I'd def take that! He's no where like Tyler Hansbrogh or Spencer Hawes
>:oPut this in your profile if your pissed that the Duke Lacrosse team didn't invite you to their party.

Re: The Cody Zeller Thread
I'd be down for Zellar. I haven't seen much of him so don't get on me a lot here but kinda reminds me of Brook Lopez. More of a PF in a C's body. Can contribute offensively but you'll need a defensive anchor at the PF position. Biyombo...meh I don't know if he can reach that kind of enforcer level but he's young you can still give him time to develop his defensive game.
Other than that I love BenMac and Oladipo for you guys at 4.
