Morris Twins

Post#1 » by JMAC3 » Mon May 27, 2013 5:09 pm

I was just wondering what you guys thought about them. Do they play better together? Is one severely better than the other? Do you have trouble telling them apart? Are they both in your future plans? What are their ideal positions?

I was just wondering because I just went off on my friend with Marcus and Markeiff in 2k. Marcus had 34 and Markeiff had 27 haha

They definitely play better together, but they went from doo doo to mediocre.

Not a big fan of Marcus, Markieff has potential to be a Udonis Haslem type of player. Nothing more, nothing in less IMO.

Neither are anything special. Should look to trade them if any decent offer comes up.

At times either one can look like an allstar. The only problem, the very next game they could look like a bad player from the DLeague. Both are way too inconsistent.

It will be interesting to see how they work together with a training camp together, with new coaching staff. However, I would be willing to forgo all that for let's say ATL's 17th, and 18th picks in this year's draft. We could then package our pick with the 30th and move up to make sure we grab the guy we want without worries that Minny or another team moves ahead to steal the guy we want.

They're fine as forward back-ups, they play well together and will play better with time.

They're not starting material. but they're cheap so it fine

I hope they aren't part of our long-term future but short term they are cheap and fills a need (sorta).

Ideal tank-bodies.

Unless being fed a wide open look Marcus Morris is basically worthless. Markieff can show some signs here and there of being a serviceable forward but has frequent lapses (and by "lapse" I mean several games) where he is extremely detrimental. If he could play with consistent energy I would like that Haslem comparison, but he is frequently invisible out there.

Hopefully having a more hard nosed coach will pick up his effort out there.

I like Markieff more because he's bigger and has a nasty edge to him, and he might be better eventually on the defensive end because he's quite active.

As others have said though, definitely bench guys for the next couple of seasons but either could develop into a starter at some point in their career.

Markieff looked very promising his first year, although he had a tendency to hang around the three point line and not get in there and bang. he regressed last year, so I don't know who he really is.
He needs to work with Paul Silas this summer

I'm willing to give them one more season under a consistent head coach in a not completely incompetent offensive system to see what they can do.

Pretty much this, don't see either being much more than back-ups in the NBA. Markieff, as others have said, is the better player at this point.

However, if you trade one, you pretty much have to package them.

Most of the time they're not even serviceable.

I'm still scratching my head over why we traded our second round pick for another Morris. Seems like a lot of people here wanted him though, for some reason.

Absolute spuds for where they were drafted

Markief looks like Deebo, can't rebound and would rather be joining Marcus outside on the. 3 point line. Between he and Frye we have the softest PF rotation in the league

Make or break year for both

I think this is one of the biggest screw jobs Blanks left us with. Trade one of the Morri and the remaining player is pissed at the Suns. Next year the Suns hold a team option on both. Opt out on one and the remaining player is upset. It's a no win situation for the front office.

It's nigh impossible to trade both to one team. Maybe a three team deal could be done with each going to a different team.
