I was very surprised to see Roy released in the middle of May.
Wolves brass says off-the-record that Roy's contract was very odd, and they needed to release him then or be on the hook for 2013-14. However, I can't remember seeing any contract recently where the waive-date was any earlier than the end of June.
Anyone got specifics on this?
