Schroeder or Carter Williams at PG?

Post#1 » by Hoops Addict » Sat May 25, 2013 12:36 pm

It appears that 1 of these guys will bee available at #14.

Who do you want out of Shroeder or Carter?

I vote to take Shroeder.....he has elite speed and is young......will get better....a traditional point guard.

Williams has good defense and can pass, but he cannot shoot well and in the NBA they will sag off of him like Ronnie Brewer.

Also.....if Shroeder is gone....do we take Williams, or go BPA?

Thanks for your OP!

Let's add poll for #14 pick: Scroeder, MCW, BPA.

My vote is ofcourse going to most talented PG of the draft. He is also known as Darren Collison 2.0 cause he is better then Darren Collison like today web is better then netscape era web.
It's time to jazz with Hayward and Favors!

My guess is neither, but I would rather have MCW. Schroeder hasn't faced any real competition. I expect the Jazz to try and move one, if not both 1st rounders in an attempt to garner extra picks next year, but if they keep them, then the only stratey that makes sense is best-player-available, which might not be a PG.

Draft Gorgui Dieng, control the paint. #1 priority.

Gorgui Dieng is Joakim Noah with a jumpshot.

A big that can change the game on the defensive end, shoot, and pass is rare.
Schroeder and Carter Williams don't have that value.

Sign Curtis Jerrells and draft Peyton Siva to man the point guard spot next season.

Sorry guys, but MCW is a bust waiting to happen.
Bad shooter, poor shot selection, turnover prone, unproven defense...

Dennis is the 2nd best PG in this draft (Burke is 1st) and better than CJ.
Dennis just have to put some muscle and develop his mid range game.

You should probably watch people play before making ridiculous assertions. You only embarrass yourself.

From everything I know about Scroeder he very well might have gills or 13 toes.

MCW, mm proved what he is capable of doing, he is true pg with terrific size you don find this often, plus look at his shooting mechanic there are pretty well so is only matter of time before he will develop consistent jump shot, Schreoder is good, but still only, prospect.

I'll take either. Doesn't matter, it's a giant step up from both watson and tinsley. Any young pg in this draft will be a step up for the jazz next year. Kabongo included.

I'll be pretty surprised if MCW is available at 14 anyways, so it probably doesn't matter which PG Utah prefers unless they trade up for one of them.

Personally, I'd take MCW and Schroder over Burke. Just don't think Burke will be anything more than a decent player off the bench. MCW is my #1 PG.

There is something enticing about a guy who has made it his life long goal to make the NBA (schroeder). I question top talented US prospects... just too much AAU mentality.

I think the international prospect is more interested in making the right play than the highlight play. They are more interested in team success than personal glory. That is what I saw in highlights and practice highlights for Schroeder. At one point he breaks down his defender and the guy falls on his butt and Schroeder helps him up... an american player would be "Clowning and Taunting" the guy.

He has the athleticism and skill to be wildly successful.

MCW has big bust potential.

In this particular draft Schroeder will climb draftboards fast. IMHO its more probable that MCW falls to 14th than the german youngster.

It's CP3 vs. Deron all over again.

Take CP3 (Schroeder).
"Thibs called back and wanted more picks," said Jorge Sedano. "And Pat Riley, literally, I was told, called him a mother-bleeper and hung up the phone."
