Who would you want to win, Spurs or Heat?

Post#1 » by dockingsched » Tue May 28, 2013 10:36 pm

Today while i was driving home, Max Kellerman posed a good question. If the Heat and the hated Lebron James make the NBA Finals, who would you want to win? Miami or San Antonio?

He brought this up because of the recent momentum this supposed Spurs Dynasty has gotten and how some people in the media are starting to rank it over the Lakers recent dynasty. He and John Ireland brought up how ESPN's Mike Greenberg declared the Spurs "dynasty" as the 2nd greatest behind the 60's celtics.

So, as a lakers fan, who would you want to win? The Spurs and Duncan's 5th title or the Heat and Lebron's 2nd?

I respect Tim Duncan (even if he is a tier below Kobe on the greatness scale :naaa: ), and Parker and Ginobili...

I can handle losing to the Spurs and will root for them.

I think Wade is a punk, and while I can respect aspects of LeBron's game, I don't really respect his accomplishments so far, I kind of like Bosh... But generally I root against Miami in all things.

So it's the Spurs for me.

Is this a trick question?? Ok in all seriousness. I am with the Spurs. Heat can suck it. I abhor the "Super-Friends" and all that they stand for.

I like Duncan and respect his accomplishments. Ginobili is a hardnose gamer like Kobe. Parker is a flat out killer. Pop is my 4th favorite coach of all time behind Phil, Riley, and Jeff VanGundy.

I think the Spurs can take the Heat. The Heat are struggling with the Pacers for goodness sake!

Go Spurs.

This is extremely tough for me. I don't want the Heat to win and I don't want Duncan to win because everybody likes him. Go Spurs I guess.

Is this a trick question? I want the Heat to win out of those 2. As Lakers fans, we've had a huge rivalry with the Spurs. They've **** us a couple times. The Heat have done nothing to us besides people being jealous that Lebron is better than Kobe and will win many rings. Hell, if TD wins then he ties Kobe with 5.

No to Spurs winning. Go Heat.

Spurs, hands down.

Although their fanbase is annoying due to the fact that a high percantage of it is made up of band wagon folk who simply root for them like they do the Cowboys. They are just annoying.

Heat fans are equally annoying and ever since they landed Bron boasted about how they would never lose.

If comes down to the players and the character that they display on and off the court, the Spurs are so much easier to tolerate than the Heat. The Spurs pride themselves of having guys who are "good guys" and just go about their business.

I am not proclaiming that the Heat are bad guys, but some of the things they do and say don't always sit well with the NBA fan. Especially with fans of rival teams. They make it real easy to dislike them.

Popavich is a man's man and a no BS coach who always tells it like it is. I have grown to really, really like him over the years of listening to his post game interviews and wish we was our coach.

Its not going to be Memphis. There is an outside chance with Indiana. And a decent chance with San Antonio.

F the Heat.

Win or lose, Spurs probably will keep the same team coming into next year with minor tweaks. that's just the way they are. I think Miami has a better chance of losing Lebron in Free Agency should miami lose. Therefore, go Spurs.

These media dudes trip me out with the dynasty talk, there is no way in hell the Spurs can't be considered an elite dynasty seeing as they've NEVER repeated after any title they've won. Greenberg's comment is just utterly asinine and ignorant. Ranking them second all time erases everything the Lakers have done according to his fascination.

They had a 6 year gap between their last title, we had a 7 year after our last in 2002. But we backed it up by repeating in 2010. That's badass right there son.

Can the Spurs say that ?.......Hell no.

But for the sake of the thread.....probably the Heat

the Spurs organization has been steady and consistent with how they built the team. that franchise wasn't built overnight unlike Miami. leaning towards the Spurs but I don't want Duncan tying Kobe. but when I think about it, Horry has 2 more than Kobe so yeah, number of rings doesn't matter to me.

So Spurs.

It's not even close, i want the spurs to win, all this Lebron is great talk is a joke, he has a stacked team and yet gets all the love as he is the sole reason they win, I like Duncan and his demeanor he is always humble and easy to root for.

Dude! HEAT strugglin' with the Pacers. C'mon can they seriously hang with the Spurs but I used to think so.

I used to think the Heat would sweep everyone in the Western Conf. in the finals, that was until this series.

The Pacers are giving the Heat all kinds of hell. God bless em' I love the NBA - always full of surprises.

Spurs. I don't care if he ties Kobe in ring count or we lost to them this PO, the type of basketball they are playing is a beaut to watch- everyone contributing and playing team-oriented defense (heck Bonner somehow is playing decent D!). I would rather have Spurs winning because it sends a clear message that you don't necessarily need super-teams but competent role players and head coaches are a much bigger importance.

Heat.

I think Indiana giving Miami all they can handle is basic evidence you don't need super teams by the way.

Don't sleep on Indy. If they shock the world this series, I don't see how you not root for them.
