Other Teams Coaching Searches

Post#1 » by JMAC3 » Tue May 28, 2013 4:44 pm

There are still several other teams who are looking for coaches right now.. Who do you think lands where?

Milwaukee?--- my guess= Larry Drew.... Him, Sampson, and Clifford were finalists. But they have overlooked Sampson a few times in the past already, plus Drew can keep them in the playoffs, because the Bucks seem afraid to go full rebuild.

Detroit?--- my guess= Brian Shaw.... Phil Jackson is advising them, and they seem to have the pieces to run the triangle offense, plus a ton in cap space to finish grabbing players who fit system.

Nets?--- my guess= Byron Scott.... Maybe they try to bring back the coach that was able to have success with their last big 3... Kidd, VC, RJ seem comparable to Dwill, Joe, and Wallace... except he would have a legit center this time in Lopez, who is better than Dikembe was then.

Atlanta possibly?--- my guess= Ettore Messina, or whoever just because they have been linked to him.

Philly?--- my guess= Michael Curry, I really have no clue...

Clippers?--- my guess= Mike Malone, seems like a he is considered best Assistant in the league, and clippers prolly have the most attractive job.

I suspect that the Nets will try to hire Hollings away from the Griz.
My picks:
2020 Draft (3rd pick) - Tyrese Haliburton, Devin Vassell, or Onyeka Okongwu
2021 Draft (11th pick) - Moses Moody

If it is indeed true that Chris Paul specifically wants an African American coach than he is truly a douche bag.

Would be the smartest move the Kings have done in years.

heard an interview with del negro this morning on the radio. he was pretty blunt in talking about paul getting him fired and how sterling didnt want to fire him but didnt have a choice considering paul is a free agent. if they are willing to fire a coach for paul, surely they will be willing to hire the coach he wants as well.

that being said, what african american coach would want to work for sterling?

I think Lionel Hollins would be a good hire for them, but i think he is way too smart to go to that franchise, and if Paul is smart he will get the hell out of there while he can. Sterling is a scumbag.

i guess we finally get to see all these hotshot assistants we've been hearing about for the past few years - clifford, malone and budenholzer. we'll see who is the real deal soon enough.

Touche. Hawks have 3 players on guaranteed contracts for next year as of right now (not counting two first round picks).

Ferry has done a great job at clearing up all that space. Most of the team's future success is likely to depend on one or two moves though. Whether he'll get (or will actually try to get) anything for Josh Smith and the superstar they might sign.

With Budenholzer locked up & Malone & Joerger about to fall into place, CHA grabbing Clifford before all the hotshots were gone now looks prescient.

When Joerger wasnt interviewed for any of the open jobs it became pretty clear what was going on. MEM getting a good young coach for a lot less money probs, but man did they sh*t on Lionel Hollins who did good by them. I'd be pretty bitter if I were him.

I'm kind of surprised that the Brooklyn Nets are really going to hire Jason Kidd as their head coach. That's a questionable decision that I think will get Billy King fired sooner than later, and deservingly so
