I can see the logic in risking the trade for Marcus purely to see if having them together brings out the best in each other

Ill reserve my final judgement until next season when they get a new coach and a preseason

But they're starting from a long way back

It's nigh impossible to trade both to one team. Maybe a three team deal could be done with each going to a different team.

Yes they probably just need to unload both of them, but they can't have much trade value.

I don't mind Markieff. Marcus didn't really get much of a shot for the short time he was in PHX. Give them the summer/training camp to figure things out. They're still really young, and Markieff has shown bursts of toughness. They're super cheap, and pretty much worth just about what their contracts are. You can send them out as an expiring package if anything next off-season.

People on this board seem to think that every player should be amazing by the time they are halfway through their rookie year. It just doesn't work that way. Some players need time to develop. What's the rush in getting rid of the Morris bros at this particular moment?

I don't mind Markieff or Marcus. I just don't like Markieff and Marcus. It seemed like a good idea at the time but now using them as trade chips seems fraught with problems.

Eh...they're not THAT young. They're going to be 24 soon; next season really is a make or break year for them.

With that being said, I don't see any reason at all to dump them this summer. Let them play out one more year, see if they can establish themselves as solid backups(at the least), and then reevaluate next summer.

Exactly. And 24 also isn't THAT old. At all. There's plenty of players that don't come around until 26-27, and then are outstanding players... granted, it doesn't happen often. I think they just need to work on a few things.

There are definitely some late bloomers but generally you don't see players making huge leaps after 24-25(the end of their rookie deals) if they haven't shown flashes.

Let's hope the Morri show a lot of flashes next season!

Meh, they both only have had one full training camp and one summer league. Both have had two coaches last year, three if you count Igor running the offense, and Mchale was out for a bit last year as well. I don't think either guy has had a stable situation since college. Hopefully they work their butts off this offseason.
