Re: The Lebron Thread (Pt. 2)
Hibbert is too big for 90% of the Centers in the league right now, anyone suggesting LeBron should guard him is an imbecil. As far as West goes, LeBron prevented him from touching the ball when he was guarding him, but at what price? Indiana just goes to some other mismatch and exploits it, LeBron wastes his energy for no reason...

Re: The Lebron Thread (Pt. 2)
Indiana's starting lineup is +28 (+14.7 per 100) vs Miami. All other Indiana lineups is -36 (-22.4 per 100). The only reason Indiana is in this is because of their starting lineup is playing 54.5% of the minutes. In the regular season they played 31% of the minutes (They were +12.4 in the regular season).

No, he's not. He's just too big for Bosh and it's not because he's 7'2...he's just got more beef. There's a reason why he stunk it up in the regular season against other bigs close to his size
Edit: I would want Spo to put Joel or Haslem on Hibbert..attack that lower body of his. Kind of like Rodman on Shaq back in 96

This series is showing what I thought all along: the Heat aren't a GOAT level team. If you have the ability to attack the offensive glass and size the Heat are mere mortals. This Pacer team is good but it isn't great. The reason they have played Miami close is there are real structural flaws on this Miami team.
I have little doubt that if the early 90s Knicks played in the same season as the current Heat the Heat would finish with a better record/SRS but the early 90s Knicks would win.

Guys, Hibbert isn't a problem because of 1on1 matchup, his post play or something like that (so Joel wouldn't change a lot here and he would hurt Miami offense a LOT). The issue for Heat is p&r defense, which is even ok in first stage (first help defender), but after rotations no one is boxing out Hibbert and he grabs tons of ORBs that way and then scores. Heat need to fix that and pay more attention to him than to man with the ball.

He is. Who's bigger and stronger than him? I'm not saying the guy is unstoppable but against the Heat, his strengths pretty much get amplified because he plays against a small, weak and soft front court.
lol @ Joel, as if the Heat haven't got enough trouble rebounding the ball already. Joel is no Rodman either, he's weaker, slower, less physical, less athletic and he'd probably get tired after of couple of minutes.
The only chance Miami's got to do anything is if they switch their defensive philosophy like David Stern said (sort of). No more hedging & trapping on the perimeter and flying everywhere with their rotations. You got to make the Pacers beat you with outside shots, pack the paint and 4, 5 guys on the boards at all time. If Hill, Stephenson and George beat you then gg.

Very very early, but Lebron's jumpshot mechanics look better in this game. Better balance and follow through, like he had during the regular season.
As I type that he puts up an off balance three against West and pulls the follow through really early.

Lebron has gone from frustrating to downright disappointing at the moment, I was really expecting more aggressiveness from him regardless of the whole ref situation.

9 FGA is just inexcusable in a game this big and a cast this bad.

It was, but I think he got the message at halftime. He's playing like we've been begging him to all series in the third, by actually shooting jumpers.

Re: The Lebron Thread (Pt. 2)
Excellent response by LeBron after a really lackluster first half. When he's hitting jumpers at this rate, he's arguably the most unguardable perimeter player ever.

Aaand he's ice cold again like usual. Can't buy a shot in the 4th, I think he's like 0-6 (1-2FT). Still, did enough in the 3rd quarter to secure a win.

What are your thoughts on comparing 2012 Lebron and 2013 Lebron? Which one do you think was better and has been better in the post-season?

Lebron had the lowest plus minus out of any Heat player at halftime with -6 and he finished the game with the highest with +14.........he absolutely carried them in that 3rd quarter.

Re: The Lebron Thread (Pt. 2)
good stuff from lebron there in the 3rd quarter , wasn't hitting shots in the 4th but he did well to settle his team down and maintain the lead. Hope he stays this aggressive from now on out

Even though he's been really good in this series, I still go with 2012 LeBron, and by a pretty decent margin if we're judging the entire playoffs. There's still plenty of time for him to close the gap, though.
And some of that (this year) isn't necessarily his fault. He didn't need to be great in the first two rounds given how poor the competition was. He's stepped it up in this series. Still hasn't exactly had an entire "unforgettable" type game, but he's had stretches of games in the series where he's been amazing.

Dominated the 3rd quarter and he is so far better than his peers it is scary at times.

You don't have to explain to me how Rodman is better. I wasn't inviting a comparison between the two's abilities...just the matchups in which they were used

Huh? This is nonsensical considering Joel played significant minutes against Indy last year and rebounded better than Bosh currently is

Re: The Lebron Thread (Pt. 2)
Pretty good game from Lebron. Those three TO's in the first quarter were rough but he shot well enough in the third quarter to put the game in a comfortable position, including that monster Curry-ranged three pointer. 1-4 from the line wasn't fun to watch, but I thought he should've been called for a couple more drives that he got hacked on.
Wasn't happy with his predictability on his drives and his post game looked rough. Though a win is a win and I was happy with his effort level on both ends of the floor tonight. Interested in seeing how it goes in Indiana on Saturday.
