my parents house in uptown got robbed over the weekend. no cars in the driveway so they pulled in their truck, kicked in the back door and stole 2 TVs and 2 laptops. hit 4 houses in their street in about 15 minutes. Charlotte can be a scary place :o

how much can you get on the black market or pawn shops for 2 used tvs and 2 used laptops? doesnt seem worth the risks for 500-1000 bucks. then again, i am not a criminal.

which part of uptown?

they were definitely complete idiots. the TVs were pretty old flatscreens from ~2005. one of the laptops was mine that was completely broken. they also took a watch of mine that was probably 15 dollars new. they found and didnt steal jewelry that was worth more than everything they stole.

the house is in Wesley Heights right up by the stadium. definitely not the best area and they can't wait for their lease to run out

Couple books I've really liked recently:
The Woodcutter by Reginald Hill http://www.amazon.com/The-Woodcutter-No ... woodcutter

and
Across the Nightingale Floor by Lian Hearn http://www.amazon.com/Across-Nightingal ... lian+hearn

great stuff

If someone's going to smoke crack they should probably not do it in front of people with cameras out.

it helps to keep it on the downlow when two people you take a photo with after this crack session aren't shot coming out of a club around the same time the tape is made public, with one of them dying.

I have no clue. Must give a hell of a high since a lot of rich folk ruin their lives on it..

this guy could seriously chris farley his way out of office at this rate. i think it is something like 6 or 7 people in his staff either quitting or being walked out by security in the last 3 days. he has replaced them by hiring 20something young men who he coached in high school football in the last 10 years. a job which, by the way, he was fired from a week ago when he didn't deny smoking crack for over a week. yes, he was coaching high school football while ostensibly being the mayor of a 5 million population city. he would habitually show up at work at NOON, and bump off (pun intended) at 3pm to go coach.

I post way too much this time of year; mainly due go my yearly infatuation with the draft and the glimmer of hope of one day watching a championship caliber team.

I used to watch it religiously, especially during the post-season. Ever since Shaq joined them I've been scared off though. Watched half of the episodes last season, close to none this year. Seriously.. I can't stand him. Moreover, The Basketball Jones podcast is enough for my daily need of NBA analysis and recaps.

The last two-parter was simply great. I bet some guys on this board would love Jalen Rose's rant on Larry Brown.

Am I only the one here that pictures Buster, from arrested development, everytime I read Bobsbuddy posts?
