No, no, no, no, no...come on guys, Varejao is not a positive asset at this point.

Correct. People can get excited about the potential in prospects all they want, but none of these guys carry 40% of Love's value because of his proven NBA production.

Correct again. Who wants to pay Varejao to sit on the bench 75% of the time you need him on the floor?

That seems like a weird grouping of prospects to me. Anthony Davis is on a different plane than the other guys. Derrick Favors is going into his 4th season and he hasn't averaged in double figures yet.

I actually like Noel a lot, but I would never give up a top 6-8 player in the league for him, or anyone in this draft. There's no way any combo of guys and picks from the cavs would swindle Love away. I don't think Flip is that dumb.

I'm just spit balling here. We all know AD would be more of an even swap, but for talents like Beal or Favors, I'd like a young piece/future draft pick attached. Favors is actually a starting caliber big man who I feel will be a 14-16 ppg 10-12 reb 1-2 blk big. He's stuck behind Millsap & Big Al in a limited role. Once he gets +30 mpg, he'll definitely show his worth being selected 3rd and being the centerpiece in the Deron Williams trade.

Joe (NY)
I keep reading that the Cavs will trade the No. 1 for Kevin Love. I would do that in a heartbeat.
Chad Ford (1:05 PM)
For a trade rumor to be even remotely credible, it has to be a deal that both sides would plausibly do. Of course the Cavs would trade the No. 1 pick for Kevin Love. They'd also do it for LeBron James, Kevin Durant, Paul George, Anthony Davis and on and on and on. The question is, would the Wolves do that. The answer? There is a zero percent chance of that happening. Zero.

Anyone with a sense of logic would know that anyway.

Also I think Love will be happy with Saunders. I know there are some articles out there about Love complaining but that's just the media blowing a small phrase up. If anything its our own Public Relations behind it, seeing what value we could get for Love. The Vikings kind of did this with Percy Harvin, and it was a very smart move.

But it was obvious Percy wanted out and I dont think that's the case with Love, but I think fans from other teams see Love as unhappy with the wolves.

Speculation: MIN would deal the #9 pick + Derrick Williams for Kyrie Irving.
Too bold a speculation?

I agree. While KG and Love are different people, KG loved it here under Saunders and we made him mad by being forced to use a crowbar to trade him off this team. Garnett heard even more "you're a superstar" talk than Love. I hope that part of the reason KG was so adamant about wanting to stay all those years is because Saunders knows how to handle superstars.

saunders seems much more approachable than kahn. could you imagine a coach with kahn's personality? probably not. now i do believe love was genuinely frustrated at the time. woj of course though wrote that piece with a pretty clear agenda.

Kevin Love hosted Mike & Mike this morning. Flip called in.

Flip Saunders called in via the sandwich line:
-Promised Kevin he wasn't being traded (in response to Love's question).
-Said the team has too many point guards (five, he said), and the roster needs balancing.
-Thinks Miami has another gear they can get to, and likes them to win.
-Didn't get asked any more real Wolves questions. Just talked about finding ways to stay healthy.

Re: The Kevin Love Speculation Thread
In the above video of Love, am I crazy or does it sound like he slipped up for a second when he mentioned resigning Pekovic? Almost made it sound like it was a done deal and then backtracked a second to say "...if we can resign him..." Obviously, words can come out wrong, especially in any type of interview. I also may be reading way too much into something that's not there.

I wonder what we could get in a trade for Shved, Ridnour, or Barea. Probably nothing to great, but I like Shved as backup Point.

He was probably going off of this:
“Pek’s a restricted free agent, so we expect that he’s going to be back,” Saunders said.
