I think Chuck Hayes for Landry Fields is more likely.

Or if we are lucky, Okafor + both their 2nds for Bargnani and Gray. :pray:

If we're in win now mode and, he is healthy ...

Nene + both 2nds for Bargs + filler (Gray, etc.)

DO NOT want Nene's hefty deal unless it's coming with picks.

Hassassin wrote:Not sure how much the Kings like Bargnani. They already traded for a non-rebounding, stretch-4 in Patrick Patterson. They have Jason Thompson locked up. They need a SF though and probably be more interested in Fields than Bargs.

They can have Rudy Gay and a future Top 10 protected pick for their bad salary and Cousins. Then sign Monta Ellis in the offseason.

Guess it depends on what direction the team is headed. If we're rebuilding, then no they shouldn't use the MLE. But if they're going all on there's some nice guys that should be available for either part of all of the MLE like Corey Brewer, Zaza Pachulia, Samuel Dalembert, Devin Harris, Darren Collison, Carl Landry just to name a few who'd all be great additions to the team.

Very good defensive front line. Jonas will also get a lot better when he goes up against Okafor and Hayes during practice.

Yea, Okafor put up some decent scoring nights last season, but he is a 4th/5th option guy on offense. But good defensive/rebounding to have.

The Wizards played well down the stretch. I dont think they'd do a Bargs for Okafor swap.

Two teams that might be interested imo.

Rockets - if they land Howard, Bargs might be ok as a stretch 4 next to him. I would ask for Asik who may be expendable with Howard around. May not work capwise.
Pacers - great defensive team that could use some extra scoring off the bench. I would ask for Granger + pick.

Fields + Gray for Hayes + Outlaw

makes some sense. They save the extra 3 million on Outlaws deal.

Trade: Rudy Gay to CLE for Tristan Thompson, 19th & 33rd overall pick in this year's draft

-Toronto clears about 12 mil. from their salary commitments as CLE is under the cap at the moment.

-In Tristan Thompson, Raptors acquire a guy who, along with Jonas, can be the linchpins of the frontcourt for years to come. Both are from the same draft class. At the same time, sure up bench by moving Amir to the bench.

-Acquire the 19th & 33rd pick(s) to add a young piece to the team, even if it's only for the purposes of adding depth (Backup PG? SF?)

-For CLE, they acquire a SF which they desperately need at the moment, having only Casspi, Gee, and maybe Miles on their roster. Gilbert and co. are eager to make the playoffs, so might see Gay as a piece to help get them there. Only a 2 yr. commitment at most, even if it's at a exorbitant cost annually.

Thoughts? Are we selling too low, could we get more from another team for Rudy, or are we helping a potential rival for a playoff spot?

Meh.. I'm not sure what Wiz think they'll be getting for Oak's expiring deal but unless it's a pick (highly unlikely, can't see anyone dealing a pick for Oak at that salary) the Bargnani is going to be right around what they can expect for him. I can't see any team trading for Nene without some kind of incentive coming with him. Either way, Bargs is a good fit for that team and I wouldn't be surprised to see him go there. Houston would be great too IF they actually land Howard.

Pacers could definitely use the offense. Granger + sweetner should do it for Bargs since I think Granger will be out for the majority of next season if I'm not mistaken and then he expires.

Amnesty Kleiza;
Resign Lucas, and trade him with Gray for Ridnour;
Sign Redick (MLE), Dalembert and Datome (min.);
Resign Telfair and Anderson for the minimum.

PG - Lowry / Ridnour / Telfair
SG - DeRozan / Redick / Ross
SF - Gay / Fields / Anderson / Datome
PF - Bargnani / Johnson / Acy
C - Valanciunas / Dalembert

When Ridnour/Williams are valued more than Demar. crazy.......

demars contract isn't even a severe overpay, just about 1 or 2 mil.

You may be right, but the length of the deal - four more years at 1-2 mil overpay, hurts it (4 x -$1-2 = -$6). Also, longterm guaranteed deals always carry greater risks of injury because there are more years.

On the other hand, I don't think either Williams or Ridnour are overpays at all. Williams was 15-6 in the second half, and while his game still has big holes, he's very young, has very good work ethic, and he keeps getting better. Ridnour is reliable (at least, if the Wolves weren't forced to play him as the tiniest two-guard most of the season) and on a $4.2 mil expiring deal.

Unfortunately, Cleveland would have absolutely no interest in that. They have been carefully hoarding their 2014 cap space and young talent for three years - they aren't going to throw that away for Rudy Gay. In addition, a ball dominant player at the 3 is the opposite of what fits well with Irving and Waiters.

Cleveland would not take Gay for free - not that he's a bad player, and he certainly will help a team win next year (whether the Raptors or elsewhere). It's just that for the Cavs he doesn't fit the organisational plan at all.

trade Ross for the best pick we can get and select one of Saric/Schroeder/Adams/Adetokunbo/Gobert/Shabazz. We end up with a younger (and higher upside, imo) prospect, and a more cap friendly contract with an extra year on the rookie scale salary to work with.
