Oh no doubt is the SG position weak. However, Mclemore just reminds me of a glorified JJ.Reddick , who is a good player but no way an all-star candidate.

Beal's really good, his shooting was off the charts (when Wall came back) and he has the all-around game that has transferred well into the NBA (rebounding/handling/shooting). Derozan however will be right in his prime in 2017 and he showed a great deal of talent through out this season, to begin the season he was driving with much more confidence compared last years, making the occasional play(assist) and successfully extending his range. I just think in 2017 Derozan will be a better/more recognized player than Beal.

$3M a year is a rich offer??? I would've just stayed in Denver if I was Ujiri.

The guy was getting paid $1mill a year I believe. A former employer just offered you triple that amount for 5 years. What would you do? Exactly.

It would be a dick move. Nobody would want to replace him. Having Perry take Denver would not be horrible. That would be another team that Henny will be very close to. Could help us down the road with maybe a trade or sharing notes on a prospect.

Can but probably won't. Its a dick move to prevent people from interviewing for promotions. Lateral moves, however should absolutely be denied.

What, besides shooting, makes Ben like JJ?

Not trade for a second top pick, that's for sure.

What, besides shooting, makes Ben anything special?

His slashing ability isn't that great nor is his ability to drive-kick(like JJ), its his cutting and athleti- athleticism that makes him anything different from a prototypical 3pt specialist SG. He's also already 21, so even if he were to grow he'd have significantly less time to develop. (2 yrs compared to players who are still 19, 2 yrs is a long time for developing players.)

Ah the old answering a question with a question ploy. If shooting is the only connection then why JJ and not Ray Allen or Reggie Miller?

Edit: how old is Ben? I thought he was 20.

Mclemore turned 20 three months ago, but when a person doesn't like a player they will twist any piece of information they can to make their own argument sound better

A source tells me Orlando is leaning towards McLemore or Oladipo over Burke at this time. Really like Bledsoe but not sure Clips deal him.

Some of you guys underrate Mclemore's shooting ability...saying shooters are a dime a dozen. That's bull. If you can get a deadeye shooter on a rookie contract, do it. Or would you rather pay 6-7 mil a year for a Crawford or Smith who come with their own baggage. Our team needs someone with elite shooting ability. We are really lacking it.

Whoa whoa whoa. jamal crawford and jr smith? Ben has not shown he has the ability to create shots off the dribble at the least. so to compare him to JR or Jamal is absurd.

well if it's not Burke then Oladipo was definitely next on my list. I love his tenancy, he's a ball hawk defensively has that Avery Bradley quality. Offensively it's going to be a work in progress but he's not as bad as I initially thought

Mclemore is a nice player, its just his lack of a killer instinct and penchant to defer in the big time as well as his lack of ability to create for himself or other that bothers people. I just hope Noel falls to us as he has the most upside, also I think MCW will be the best pg in this draft. It is just so flat (talent wise) that having a top 3 pick and using it on a most likely solid role player takes the pop out of it for me.

Nice summary of where we are today.
The Magic have begun their pre-Draft workouts, bringing in at least two of the candidates for the second overall pick according to several reports.

Late last week, Trey Burke told MLive.com that he was scheduled to meet the Magic this week. According to several reports, Burke was in town Wednesday for a meet-and-greet with the Magic brass and a light workout.

Jazmyne Hankerson of Sports Talk Florida 1080 AM in Orlando reported Burke posted a graphic on his Instagram page stating he had landed in Orlando on Wednesday. You can see that image yourself on that page or here on Burke's Instagram page. Dave Pingalore of News Channel 6 in Orlando reporterd later in the evening Thursday reported Burke indeed met with the Magic this week:

It did not seem like the Magic put Burke through an intense workout. Orlando likely saw plenty of him during the season, in talking to his coaches, at the Draft Combine. The Magic did not interview Burke at the NBA Draft Combine, and so Wednesday and Thursday's sessions with Burke were about getting to know him and seeing if he fits in with the Magic's culture and program.

Do not expect the Magic to say much more, if anything, ahead of the Draft.

Orlando also will have Nerlens Noel in this weekend. ESPN college basketball writer Andy Katz reports Noel will be in Orlando on Sunday and plans on only working out -- as much as he can at least -- with Cleveland and Orlando, the top two teams in the draft.

Unlike Burke and Ben McLemore (more on him in a minute), the face-to-face with Noel in Orlando is a big meeting. At the NBA Draft Combine, the team got to meet with Noel and talk with him.

Sunday's meeting with Noel will allo Magic doctors to take a closer look at his torn ACL and get a sense of how his rehab is going. Noel is not likely to do much working out at this point in the rehab, but Orlando still needs to get that face time with him.

So what about Ben McLemore?

McLemore spoke with Josh Robbins of the Orlando Sentinel on Thursday and said he has not scheduled a workout with the Magic yet, but he hopes to soon. He spoke glowingly of his interview with the Magic at the NBA Draft Combine, telling Robbins:

The Orlando Magic, I think that's a great program. I think I could fit perfectly in that system and that organization and help that team in different kinds of ways.
It is all good. The rookies usually speak glowingly of their interviews as they try to impress their future bosses and teammates. McLemore said he "can't wait" to get to Orlando for his workout.

That will come as the Magic continue their pre-Draft preparations.

MCW intrigues me, he's a "roll the dice" type of prospect. I think his potential is one of the highest in the draft
