How should Grant Hill return to the Suns?

Post#1 » by ShawnBronald » Sun Jun 2, 2013 12:34 am

With Grant Hill officially announcing his retirement after 19 years in the NBA, wouldn't it be nice to see him return to Phoenix? Obviously there was some tension when he left, but I don't think it was irreparable. Also, he's a great basketball mind, so I doubt he completely walks away from the game now that his playing days are over. So the question is: how would you like to see Grant Hill return to the Phoenix Suns organization?

I've added a poll, so you can vote there and then discuss your selection in the thread.

I would be glad to have him back in some capacity.

Have him take over Hunter's previous role: Player Development coach. He'll actually do the damn job, and he'll do it well.

I think he should come back in row three, seat 16, for sporadic games.

Why this obsession to get him a job? Let him chill awhile. Would rather see him coaching high school at this point.

I think President of the United States would be most fitting for Grant Hill.

If he doesn't want to rly "work" anymore I would like to see him during the pre-game, halftime, and post game shows giving some colorful commentary.

This.

Grant Hill was the absolute s**t before his injury. Im sure he could even teach a franchise player like Wiggins a thing or two. You see, this isnt something that the Suns have, thats great ex-players who we can get to come in a mentor our fresh crop of guys.

You see teams like Houston bring in Hakeem, the Lakers us Jabbar, hell, even Utah using Stockton and Malone. We dont have those kind of guys. Instead we have crappy ex-players from other teams past helping our new guys.

I'd love to see him on the sidelines again as an assistant coach. The guy's basketball IQ is through the roof, he's respected and he's played the game.

I'd take him back at any capacity, as long as he's with the franchise I'd be smiling.

My sentiments have already been echoed here.

Incredible BBIQ. Would be a credit to any position. Would begin creating a positive culture again.

Hornacek + Hill + McD + Babby is a great start.
