He should just start calling all the crappy teams in the league and offering Rduy/DD/Lowry and anyone else not names Valanciunas for draft picks for this draft and next year's. Try and at least grab 2 more picks for next years draft from potential lottery bound teams. Hopefully he has enough foresight to see which teams those may be.

This. I'm actually worried the media is going to find a way to screw up this press conference by asking questions that nobody cares about.

I haven't been this pumped for a presser...ever. This should be a very telling one.

Tanking for Wiggins solely is a fools errand. Tanking to get a very talent player in next years draft, now that's an attainable goal.

This

Shoot for the moon and if you fall, you land among the stars.

Gunning for the #1 overall pick is exactly what this team should be doing. At best, we have a 25% at getting Wiggins but if we fail, at least we can 't drop out of the Top 3. Yes this draft is stronger than most but we still need to do all WE can to ensure we get the best possible prospect we can. If we gun for Wiggins, we likely end up with Parker but as soon as we get satisfied with just being in the lottery, we run into problems.

But yes, there's more in this draft than just Wiggins but we shouldn't take our eye off the prize.

If anyone should know this it would be TL with all his years obviously in LA.

TANK!
Because we're not getting any superstars to come here VIA free agency.

I agree. Is there any way to get in touch with the media threatening them not to screw this up? Many of them just arent fit for the job. They better have their questions prepared ahead of time, and not the usual "what do you think of Toronto?" or the vague "what direction will you steer this team?" type of obvious questions. They need to come up with specific, well thought out questions.

They should try and maximize the chances of landing the #1 pick.

If we don't finish with a top 5 pick, it would be probably total fail and waste of a year! Who knows when the next draft as strong as the 14' class will occur. I want that superstar potential, just not all-star

Players in my opinion who should be absolutely moved for picks/young cheap players/ expiring (preferably crap veterans) are:

- Lowry
- Gay
- DD

Guys like Bargnani, Fields, Kleiza should be the least of our concerns at this point.

This. If Masai doesnt intend to make the raps a playoff team next year, might as well gut the team of our wannabe stars, Demar/Gay/Lowry, and lose as much as possible playing our young guys extensively like Jonas, Ross and Acy. The problem is, if Casey is still the coach can you see that happening? I sure dont. Thats why Casey and his "instilling a winning culture" has to go to make this work.

How about we all make some tweets, the more the better. Let them wake up and read them before the presser!

How can we "dump" our team when all of them basically have horrid contracts?

I believe Leiweke is a man of his word and I doubt after making those brash statements in his conference call that he'll back track. I think we know what Leiweke is all about and that's winning and getting the right people, the right environment and the resources to do it. I'm more interested in what Masai wants to do with this team. Leiweke already stated his view on the team of being a 7-11 team and that they're not a piece away. Given the fact that Masai was given 5years guaranteed, I think he'll take a step back and start trading the dead weight on the team and look to build assets. Masai has already start cleaning house and getting new people in scouting, which he values highly, and to have a streamlined front office to work with.

Not tanking would he moronic, yes, but whatever they are doing they'd better be **** clear about it and not do a diarrhea run from their mouths ala colon jello.

I'm not really sure we'll know anything more than we do now after this press conference. Some will still be convinced we're tanking, others, will not.

Once Masai starts making a few moves it'll be more obvious. Obviously.

Can't wait to see which direction we go.

At http://www.sportsnet.ca/590/ it says the PC will be televised on the Score and streamed on Sportsnet.ca. It can be heard on the Fan 590 as well. I think I also read elsewhere that it will be streamed on Raptors.com and heard on TSN radio.

Return to Toronto Raptors
