Let's Talk Spurs vs. Heat

Post#1 » by Sejope » Tue Jun 4, 2013 4:10 am

What's the matchup you're most looking forward to?
What's the matchup that will give us the most trouble?
What are the keys to the series?
How old are the Spurs?

I can't wait for this series! Thursday can't come soon enough.

1. Bosh and Duncan is the most interesting matchup.
2. PG
3. Limiting Parker as much as possible. Lots of guys who can score the ball, don't let him pick the defense a part.
4. What?

couper moorhead
Just remembered how little useful video there is for Heat-Spurs given the players that were active in each matchup. Tough scout.

X-factor for spurs is parker IMO. their 3pt shooters will make shots and timmy will get his. But is parker going to have 24pts 12assists games or 12pts 6 assists.

X-factor for miami is battier and ray. If they can shoot over 40% from 3 i think this series will be short

The Spurs unlike the Pacers can actually shoot, especially from the 3 point line. The 3 point line is our weakness.... honestly the Spurs are like Dallas except Parker is Dirk. Unless Duncan turns back the clock.

I think we will be able to play more Heat basketball because the Spurs aren't that great defensively compared to Indiana. The Pacers REALLY threw us off, I give them a lot of props.

Spurs also are deep, from their starting 5 to their bench. Man this is going to be a challenge, most challenging the Heat have faced past 2 years.

Mario is going to get mauled by Parker man... unless he attacks Parker.

I don't see how Bosh is going to get owned by Duncan, I just don't see it how people make out to be.

Bosh doesn't struggle against players his size at all - Always thrives and does well.

Especially this whole process really should kick start him off as well!

Bosh played like a crap in this series vs Indy( 11/3 AND 40% from the field is    ) and the excuse was a young and "too much big" Hibbert for him!
Now, Bosh you are going to play against a 38 years old Tim Duncan, so what will be your next excuse ?!

Parker will be the greatest challenge, next to the coaching of Popovich.

You're an idiot... Fact is Hibbert is x10 bigger then Bosh at the same time him getting in foul trouble 90% of the time as well.

The offense wasn't the problem at all. It just seemed that way because the pace was so slow. I think I saw we were well over 110 ortg and closer to 115. It was the defense that let us down and San Antonio is a much better offensive team.

Luckily they don't have the same offensive rebounding as Indiana. They do have really good three point shooting which could be a problem for us.

I just hope if Parker is killing us it won't take us as long to put Lebron on him as it did with George. This series could have been a lot shorter.

I think the Heat have to control the 3point line and limit Parker's penetration. And with the Spurs it's about rebounding. Duncan isn't as physical as Hibbert, so Bosh should have a revival this series. Just my thoughts

Splitter could have a similar Hibbert effect on Bosh, combined with Duncan

We need to shut down Tony Parker...he'll go for +30 and he'll get guys like Green, Leonard, Manu, and Neal wide open 3's if we let him.

Yep, parkers penetration is going to be a huge issues. HE can either penetrate and score or pass. Hopefully chalmers and cole can slow him down.

Couper Moorhead
Presented mostly as a curiosity: With Norris Cole on the court, Tony Parker went 4-of-13 with 4 free-throw attempts in 34 min.

small sample size obviously.

We need to jump on them in game 1 and take it.

The Spurs are not deep at the 4/5. Duncan has played limited minutes, its going to be tough for him to play 40minutes a night, which he might have to. Manu is in energy conservation mode all the time as well. Parker can play 40 a night easily. But they can shoot the three quite well. Splitter may be an x-factor for them kinda like Birdman.
