I like how Masai got mad today and said "I'm on the hotseat" (in reference to his BC relationship)

This guy is doing his own thing and has a big bad boss in Leiweke to set him straight if he comes off the path.

TL keeps bringing up Wiggins name as the future of Canada Basketball and says we want to rebrand Canada basketball with possible name change and rebrand image and that he and MU have a clear path as to what they want to do...this just sounds a tank to me

LOL doesn't say "tank" here but instead, "reboot" b/c he probably realized he shouldn't had said that publicly

I didn't get the tank impression from MU, seems he does like some of the pieces (I'm guessing the starters).

We'll see how this all shakes down as the moves comes through but if the above happens, I'd be good with that for now as a start and see how things progress.

I don't see that at all, as MikeM pointed out

MikeM wrote:He's on with Sid right now.

He said we have 3 directions:

Rebuild and then he specifically said "tank it".

A major trade.

A combination of both. "rebuilding on the fly".

Ujiri is deciding which way to go.

I see this starting lineup getting blown up regardless of which path they take (based on the 3 options provided), and another hint was dropped few weeks ago when TL publicly admitted this team is more than 1 or 2 moves away from being good, hinting at a major shake up.

I guess his meeting with Stern earlier insisted that "If you tank, we will give you Wiggins"

Has a great relationship with Magic Johnson and he says Toronto is on the right path to build that image and brand and players know there is a new era in Toronto...TL is blown away with the ppl they have got and are getting in management and will get noticed by a lot of players

Man just stop.

Stop what? That's my opinion on what's going to happen.

But you've convinced yourself we'll be tanking for Wiggins and I get that, good for you. Just don't cry on here when it doesn't happen. Well, you can cry all you want, just don't be surprised if it doesn't happen.

Things are looking up! Raptors will tank for Wiggins. Stern will give us the lottery. Raptors change name to the Huskies. Huskies draft Wiggins. All-star game in Toronto for 2016 where Wiggins wins the dunk competition. SWEET!

TL sounds like a guy on a **** mission. Remove the garbage 8th seed > all past of the Raptors, turn them into a championship contender

TL: I don't believe in trying to win the lottery.

Uses Denver as a model of success that wasn't lottery bound.

TL said he can't create a gameplan with ping pong balls...says next year is a great draft and has 6 players that you can build around and you need to collect assets...we dont need to win the lottery, we need pieces simple as that...

Sure, I'll believe it when I see it. The kids on this board are on a wishful-thinking binge. I'm certain the content owners (Bell/Rogers) want some playoff ball and since we're so close, money talks and bull walks.

The odds of a full tank are slim to none, mark my words. We'll likely get an upgraded bench and a Bargs trade. Outside of that I'd be surprised if we even upgraded one starting position.

Here's what I think: I think they are planning to go young, and whether that leads to losses or not, they are going to sink and swim with a critical mass of young talent.
