I don't mind aspects of the design but that Raptor logo is horrific. Looks like a brontosaurus, but more importantly it looks like something Kraft would throw on some lunch snacks and less like something I'd want to put on my hat.

Doesn't even look like a raptor. It looks like that vegetarian dinosaur with a long neck. The name is currently phasing me...

I believe the name is in the post you quoted...

I don't mind aspects of the projectthirtyfour jersey design but that logo they put on the shorts and on the bottom right corner on the imagine really is horrendous.

As I said before, it looks like something Kraft would toss on something they called "Dino Dunkaroos" and the dinosaur looks even more goofy than the one we currently have. I would honestly never purchase another piece of merchandise from this team again if that became the team's primary logo.

The ferocious Raptor logo (the one that many people have no commented on as a step in the right direction in this thread) with Atlanta Falcons undertones to it, I hope, gets seen by somebody in the front office because that kind of image I could get behind. Tweak it a little and it would look pretty great on a black hat.

Actually, let's take this further, can anybody think of any way we could get this image to the Raptors PR and marketing department? Anybody with contacts? Any email addresses?

Image

If nothing else, it should serve as solid inspiration.

we've seen it. but there has been zero, zilch, zata talk about rebranding around the office. Nothing has come down from the top in terms of colours, logos, fonts. But I can tell you for certain that the people above me have seen this one.

i agree with you about the kraft dinner but i don't see anything inspirational about this particular image.

and apologies if anyone is getting butt hurt by my opinions. if you have the balls to post your personal work respects, but you should also have the balls to take in critique..part of being an artist right? if i see something i like i'll be the first to give you props no doubt. but this brand is something i'll be repping so i'm going to have my say one way or another.

I think Tim wants to keep Red, since he is trying to "rebrand" as Canada team.
But I think adding another colour would be good.
Maybe Red-Blue scheme, so it leaves it open if they want to take it old school and bring back the Huskies.

Our current jerseys are actually good...We should stick with the Red I don't want to go the leafs route with Blue the Raptors need a unique identity we already get lost in the media when in it comes to coverage why make the situation worse with similar colors to the leafs. The Raptors Red is full of energy, fire, passion and youth which is why I like them. Also, I would be against a name change I like the name Raptors. I would hate to be changed to the Huskies it just sounds too soft plus the NBA already has the Timberwolves we don't need another "canine" team lol...

here is the thread from last year "Raptors Design Competition" there were a few nice ones...
viewtopic.php?f=32&t=1198906

I recall these designs as some of the good ones...

One area of inspiration that I haven't seen anybody with artistic skill pursue that could be potentially very interesting is to try and channel the kind of family crest/warrior clan/ancient shield/ancient flag style of art that often featured Dragons or Griffins or Lions or boats but with a Raptor instead. Basically, pretend that some old clan had a dinosaur on their crest instead of a dragon and that's essentially what I'm imagining.

I don't have the skills to pull it off but many of those older logos in soccer look incredible classic and timeless because they feel like they're from a 1000 years ago. If you could take that concept and put a slightly modern twist on it you could have something really special, kind of like how the Nets logo looks like it's from the 1930s. Can anybody create a Raptor logo in that family crest/warrior clan/ancient flag style?

Another design idea for those with skills. What about just an open mouth of teeth with the letters "T.O" within the mouth. Imagine something like the hat seen here with teeth:

Image

Only more clearly designed to be a Raptor's jaw/teeth with stylized letters "T.O." inside of the open fangs.

One challenge of designing the uniform is that it must have universal appeal whereas RealGm is mostly comprised of 15-35 yr-old males who probably have a bias towards a certain style that is not agreed upon by other stakeholders (essentially upper middle class 40+ year olds/majority season ticket holders).

If Leiweke is as powerful as he says, he'll re-brand the country to match the team.

But do those types buy gear for themselves or their sons? The Brooklyn Nets design was clearly aimed at the the 15-35 demo and it was a massive success. I think most teams design logos for that demo even if it is the 40+ crowd that mostly pays for the lower bowls of the arenas.

The mature fan gave up hoping for the NBA to associate with them a long time ago. They know it's a youthful game but they still support it anyway for the product and the atmosphere.

Long time lurker here. Just thought I'd throw something up for critique:
